Salimbest : you ststed in your guide

latest major release of ClockworkMod recovery is 3 and while it is available for several Android devices, trying to install ClockworkMod recovery through ROM Manager will result in the latest 2.x recovery being installed instead of 3.x. While version 2 works great for most purposes, version 3 is required to install CyanogenMod 7 nightly ROMs on your device that we have been featuring here lately.
Fortunately, with a quick file rename hack, you can trick ROM Manger into installing ClockworkMod Recovery 3.x on your device

I flash the last Cyanogen RC2 using nbo file. For the new zip file build 19 - I suppose I need to change the recovery image. Can you point me the link to this 3.0 and above to download

Thanks

Want more homescreens - replace launcher with ADW Launcher - up to 5 homescreens, Zeam - up to 7 and Launcher Pro - cannot remember , I think is also at least 5 to 7

Yes, you can still partition card. Partition will erase everything on card - so backup on PC any important data. I suggest to do first so that one can immediately install apps on it after a rom flash. Actually when you use Phantom King -= just go to CONFIG an app in menu - there you can set your apps install settings. No need to use any 3rd party apps2sd

ok. thanks. so, i just need to partition 1st the sd..
1 more thing, i cant view my sd card using this phone oredi. i mean the interface no mount as usb in the pc application part.

Probably is your card problem. Can your PC detect it using a card reader ? If so, reformat it and then do a partition of it. Shouldn't be the rom issue

Edit:

I just explore a bit. i can activate the USB from the phone.. thanks..  Problem solve

I go to CONFIG, i also confuse. what to use? App2sd, Dalvik2sd, or Data2sd.. can explain a bit. Thanks.

Apps2SD will allow apps that could be installed on card directly to card. For some old apps that has yet to be upgraded by developer, you might need to " force install" such apps - just do this at Settings/Applications - select the app and select move to SD

Data2SD : some apps will have data downloaded eg newsfeed which many default install in phone memeory. This function will allow such data to be downloaded to card. Again this depends on whether such apps allow such. Usually very old apps do not allow. Some apps allow you to have data download on card - just check the settings or any options in the app. There are just too many of such variations as every app is unique

Dalvik2SD : Actually all dalvik cache highly recommend to be on phone to allow speedier access to apps. This cache is build up when you first install and initialize the app. Select this only if you really want the extra space in phone memory

bro, my fault.. smile.gif  basicly using the offical, when we connect we has the intercafe right. but, this phantom king diff a bit. activate using the phone itself.. thanks for guiding..

I has 1 more question.. how to partition 1gig instead of 512mb?
*
You must have a paid app to do this. If you are using the rom manager download elsewhere - it is cracked to release licence only NOT full features of the app. This app is dirt cheap - buy it if you need this feature

http://www.miui-au.com/howtos/ext3/

If can i want to use ROM Manager which more less work. smile.gif

Did you buy it ?? If so, you will have this feature.
If you have downloaded this Premium version from somewhere else - it is only licence release not full feature.

SD card partition can be done using any recovery program , not necessary using rom manager. I also use my Galaxy and previos Nexus recovery to partition cards. There are also many PC utilities you can use

On Window sXP - you can use many utilities - just google. Some are free , some are not.
Highly recommended - Paragon Partition Manager is very good and high features US$39.95 or try google for free version

benny888, u mentioned tat if we use rom manager to backup our current stock/csl rom, we will still able to recover back our csl rom(include the csl start-up/welcome screen with its original apps) after flash to phantom king n flash back to ori stock rom. is it?

sorry for asking again  sweat.gif
*
Backup stock rom ONLY before you flash any other rom.
If you did not do it first, any subsequent restore of the stock rom - during bootup you will see splash screens of the flashed rom for a brief 1-2 sec than only CSL splash screens

Same here i have the same question, need or dont need to do ext2
I m on Ph sky R1 rom.
Flash the rom last week, after boot up it as to format sd and i press yes and i just use it.
My sd is 4gb so in file explorer it has 4gb space.
Is there any different if partition the sd an ext2?
*
Please trace back several posts I explained why one should partition the card to ext. If you do not wish to have apps on SD card, than no need

Well in my case i didnt partition the sd,the first boot up ask to format the sd so i ok it.
Then i go config and enable app2sd and dalvid.
i have now 73mb on my internal storage, use up 1 gb on the card.
i have install 22 game on the phone and a bundle of apps, well just talking tom is 18mb and nfs is 38mb!
In the setting -manage app and click the apps, it is there button "move to sd or move to Phone"
Some app r auto go to sd,some have no option at all and some i move them myself-ie i press the button move to sd.

no offence but the is what is on my phone
Is this not the correct setting or if do the ext2 the internal and sd size while be different?
Thank for the replys

There is no harm installing apps on SD card fat partition. If you have partition it, and especially if you use Phantom King rom - the apps will go to the ext partition - this would mean faster access and better performance, which is main advantage. Infact when Google develop Froyo that was one of the main purpose so that apps could be installed on hidden partition not on the FAT partition. It is highly recommended if possible , have at least a EXT3 with journalling features and EXT4 will be ideal. Most partitioning just do up a EXT2. However I noted the rom Manager do not give you such option . So if you want a better performance from SD card, use another recovery rto do it or use any partition software from Windows
My SD card is on EXT4 - I partition it using my previous NexusOne recovery program

At settings/applications - this is FORCE move to SD and it goes to the FAT portion NOT hidden ext partition

Yes - terribly slow. Last night I download the Phantom King V2 - disconnected after 2 hours, three times in a row. Managed to download max 60 MB out of the 114 MB. This morning try again, got it downloaded in 1.5 hours

is that any update of system ?? make it more smooth... camera more good and barrety more longer ?
*
More smooth - upgrade to Froyo. Since you have move up to 2.1 , take it another step up to 2.2

Camera - this is limited by its hardware. What do you mean more good ? What you comparing it with ? This phone selling point is not the camera - it just offers a basic usage only

Battery : are you new on Android? Perhaps this article can assist you: I find the battery usage is good having using several high end Androids - can easily last me a working day. Anyway I also bought 2 additional batteries since can use Nokia BL6F N95 model - generic cheap type only RM 10 . I bought a high 1800mAH fro RM 50+ Sunglobal and a branded generic RM 30

Oh ok, thank for the explaination.
So if i want best result is to make the partition as below;
1)Pri-fat 32
2)Pri-ext 2
3)Pri-ext 3
My partition software cannot make ext 4 but can make Pri- linux swap,is this of any use?
Thank for the advises.
*
Just make it FAT32 for bulk storage and just one ext 3 partition will do
