well good luck then, recently just recruited quite a number of new staff so most probably won't add some more unless there's more resignation..

so which firm more likely to recruit you if your academic results aren't strong but you have a little working experience over fresh grads...

should be 2 years since big 4 will discount 1 year of your experience.

so there's no difference between me joining before getting promoted in med compared to after?

i only worked 14 months in med firm and i joined Big 4 as 2nd year associate afterwards.
It depends on if you clearly stated which position you apply for and your conduct during the interview.

alright thanks for clarification

Is entering the big4 really that important? There is no other place to go?
*
well its said that big4 have the best learning curve.. of course its personal decision, there's always mid tier or small firms around, there's also direct into commercial...

I'm currently in med firm, my advice is if u wanna advance and learn quick and don't mind the stress, then go for it. If u prefer things to be more balance and not too rush, then med firm is also a great training ground.

Yes

Usually they need the performance appraisals more than reference coz usually they wont call

Which firm are u working in now?

Any opening for junior associate? Lol

*
performance appraisal? yup I've been appraised b4 but I didn't receive any report of it..

ya I think my firm will definitely need more staff since peak about to start and quite a number planning to leave...

Guys may I know how important it is to have a car? Currently I have no problem taking public transport to work, but will this be an issue during peak period where auditors work past midnight? Also is it advisable to live near the office, or it doesn't really matter if I'd be working on site?

Please advise me on the above matters!
*
yes its more advantage to have a car(esp if you're not staying near). BUT from my exp, SIC are mostly considerate and allow those who don't have car and rely on public transport to go home b4 midnight(b4 public transport stop), or you can also go home earlier and continue your work at home.

However, its more important if you are senior in charge cuz you'll need to drive your team to client's office and normally SIC are the ones with heavier responsibility thus more overnight shifts during peak.

For Pwc I'm assuming u enter as experienced hire right?

Batch full coz of entry level. So no problem, just apply haha.

experience hire but I think they gonna discount my experience and treat me as entry too
