QUOTE(mumeichan @ Dec 7 2013, 02:11 PM) I would suppose so as well. But some of the offers I got explicitly stated it in the offer letter and some didn't. So I just wanna be on the cautious side as it's wouldn't be good if I got a higher salary but end up spending a third on transportation. i reckon , midtier firm above can claim those expenses .not sure about small firm tho. mileage claim would ranging from 0.70 per km - 1.00 per km . depending on firm . tolls should be claim full . so the parking fees at client place too. |

Why we need bank confirmation letter ? Instead of solely rely on bank statement . both are third party source document also.
any pros can shed some light ? |

QUOTE(ComingBackSoon @ Dec 11 2013, 12:11 PM) Because if your client is sneaky enough, a forged bank statement can be given to you, i.e., your client can go print out a fake bank statement and give it to you. In contrast, a bank confirmation is sent by the bank directly to the auditor, without going through the client. thanks for the info . learned something. Rule of thumb - when in doubt, insist in obtaining third party confirmation DIRECTLY. Your reliance on the audit confirmation as an audit evidence should drop significantly if it is route through your client. Hope this helps |

QUOTE(prozfromhell @ Jan 14 2014, 09:32 AM) Hi all Sifu, if you got a degree which is recognised under MIA , need some kind advice on ACCA PER requirements and also MIA membership, can we actually pass their requirements without working in Big 4? I am quite confuse with the requirements ler, as long as there is an ACCA qualified chartered accountant which will sign ur annual PER submission, its not necessary to work in Big 4 right? How bout MIA membership? I am thinking of leaving my position in audit d. you worked 3 years in related industry ( bank ,account ,audit ) u eligible for it .as per what i read at the mia web. Please correct me if i am wrong. This post has been edited by fcuk90: Jan 16 2014, 09:33 PM |

QUOTE(Topace111 @ Jan 17 2014, 12:07 AM) Eligible but need to sit for internal exam unless you are already member of other professional bodies such as Micpa, CPA or acca. Then can apply for exemption. I heard need 2 endorsement letter from Mia certified if without attachment with any professional body. ELIGIBILITY FOR REGISTERING WITH THE MALAYSIAN INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANTSAPPLICANTS UNDER THE CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT CATEGORY MUST POSSESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. Passed any of the final examination specified in *Part I of the First Schedule of the Accountants Act, 1967 and gained not less than of 3 years of working experience in the service of a Chartered Accountant or in a government department, bank, insurance company, local authority or other commercial, financial, industrial or professional organisation or other undertaking approved by the Council; and/or 2. Member of any of the recognised bodies specified in **Part II of the First Schedule of the Accountants Act, 1967; and/or 3. Passed the MIA Qualifying Examination (QE) and gain 3 years of working experience in the service of a Chartered Accountant or in a government department, bank, insurance company, local authority or other commercial, financial, industrial or professional organization or other undertaking approved by the Council. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « if the uni is under the listed university by Mia , he/she doesnt need to take exam. unless the private uni is not listed there. so for future accounting grads , better choice wisely to where to further study , so you doesnt need CPA / ACCA to back u up to apply for MIA .
