hi Guys..

Need some opinion here. Hope u guys can help me. This is the layout of my house. I plan to do something with Bedroom 2 and 3. The room is like a cave (no window coz this in an intermediate lot) and I was wondering how can I let light/air flow in. Or should I demolished both wall and built a partition or something. I just move in and planning to do some reno.

And guys.. It didn't occur to me before but.. sweat.gif .. where should the washing machine be placed with this kind of layout? Thanks.

You are right.. if you put at door of room 4, then it block the exit, if you put at kitchen, it block your kitchen..

the only thing u can do is put before kitchen door.

for bedroom two and three, i believe you have windows pointing to dining.

u will need aircone there. OR make one room as your store room because you have no utility space.

OR you take BIG MONEY and break all the walls then rebuild you own layout.. smile.gif that will cost you a bomb..

Added on December 6, 2010, 9:43 ambut i guess it is an old designed house.

last time people stayed at long and narrow house.

usually this type of house has very high ceiling.

You can actually put the washing machine in Room 4 next to bath 2's wall. I believe that the plumbing can be connected as the bath is just next door. You could probably transform your Room 4 into laundry/walk in closet room. biggrin.gif

At least you won't need to cramp a wardrobe cabinet in your bedroom.

Sorry. I haven't look in to this post because for the past few days, I was working outside area with internet connectivity. The layout is the mezzanine (1st) floor layout with a staircase heading to a room upstair..

and oh.. the space between the staircase and room 5 is actually a space for garden (cemented) with no roofing (to built a rock garden or water feature I guess, will try to think what to do with it later, but the roofless space is a major security threat isn't it?). It provides natural lighting to the room because it doesn't have any window, but a balcony at the back.. This is sort like a penthouse; a private room with attached bath, open garden, and balcony upstair.

thumbup.gif Salutes you for your very keen eyes and precise observation.. there s a window each in bedroom 2 and 3
There s already points for aircond for room 2 and 3
and the ceiling is 13.5' high

BUT

one thing that you got wrong is 'old designed house'.. This is indeed a new development and it is 22' x 70' icon_rolleyes.gif

So any help regarding making it brighter? The washing machine issue is still hasn't been resolved though sweat.gif
