hey all, i need advise on my bodybuilding, err thing. i started early this year. my target is the swimmer's body (muscular, but not too muscular). are protein shakes good for me? considering that im 16, height 5'9, weight 64kg or 140lbs. i stay in boarding school so the meals are already set. for example the first day would be fish for lunch, meat for dinner, 2nd day would be fish for dinner, chicken for lunch, and then would be fish and meat again. i play rugby probably around 1-2 hours a day, 4-5 times a week. and i do my workouts 4-5 days a week. so yeah, do i need those supplements if i want to achieve my target? preferably by or before the time i grad from school

oh btw, i eat 1-4 packets of maggi a week during midnight heheh

isnt necessarily a good thing. try changing to some real food? try scrambled eggs and bread, thats what i do tongue.gif

but you are at least leading a healthy lifestyle. eat more if you want to grow i suppose, you still have loads of time. you're 16, after all.

edit: what workouts btw? weights? mind elaborating on that?

Dont listen to this guy.

Ask ur question in bodybuilding thread, u will get a better respond.

For ur question, if u find it hard to get protein source from the place u stay, yes u may, else keeping a box of tuna might be a better choice wink.gif

yeah i do weights. idk what the moves are called. the one where u sit, elbow at knee, then u lift, the barbell, the regular pushups, sit-ups. those in every routine. then squat and chin-ups sometimes. just some moderate workout. and theres the gym which never opens coz the teacher said they dont want the equipments to be damaged. how dumb -.- no point of having one

im not listening to him/her. lol. cause ive read in other websites, theyve got different types of supplements for teens below 16, 16-19 and for adults. and ive heard creatine and glutamine are suitable for my age. but i dont think i lack of protein since theyre in every lunch and dinner.

so you have access to dumbbells and barbells? great. you're off to a great start then! Imo, try googling compound exercises and focus on those. Or, there's a lot of stickies here that you can read. knock yourself out tongue.gif
