Any using PS3 to run BLURAY ?

Cheapest Bluray player Sammy C5500 or PS3 ?
Some say PS3 Bluray quality is not as good as a normal Bluray?

if u don't plan to play games then get the samsung c5500. value for $$$

PS3 has built in WIFI...BD Live becomes a non issue.

no built in wifi-need to pull wires here and there...hassle just for one feature.

not to mention PS3 can be updated to support newer features-something done with a lot less hassle (again,) thanks to the wifi support.

wifi alone makes the PS3 a great blu ray player for those of us who cant pull wires from upstairs to the living room(or vice versa)

only negative aspect to the PS3's blu ray support-support for 3D blu rays is hindered by the lack of HD audio support(during 3D blu ray playback only)

C5500 can support wifi but only if you purchase an add on apparatus

PS3 already with HDMI1.4a that is 3D ready with 7.1ch audio. Sony keep upgrading the firmware via network.

BTW bluray player only for rich uncles got so much money to spend without thinking twice, you want to buy cheap karaoke set also think 1000x.

I think it depends what kind of setup you want. I was looking for a Blu-ray player but ended up with a fat PS3 (slim version not yet available during that time). It is no doubt a great all in one machine. However, I noticed that the PQ is not quite up to what I expect from a Blu-ray movie.

Then just recently I bought a Samsung C5500 as it's the cheapest Blu-ray player in town. Hooked it up to the same TV, popped in the same Blu-ray movie, and man...the picture is far better than my fat PS3. So now the Samsung stays in my ht room while the PS3 sits outside for pure gaming purpose only.

PS3 blu-ray PQ is not as good as a standalone blu-ray player. if you want to play games then by all means get the PS3.. but for watching movies, buy a standalone unit.. a BD player is affordable now..

with the price of blu-ray player that below Rm400,i think is worthy to own it for watching blu-ray movie.

but he wants to sing karaoke too

for RM400..i will choose BD player anytime. Unless u like all in 1 devices..then PS3 is the answer
