QUOTE(FLampard @ Dec 2 2010, 12:54 AM)
hi footballers, i just came back from a night game....i made a blunder this game...

the opponent was hurt in game, so we kick the ball out for him to be treated, then when the ball restart, referee ordered a fair play so our opponent throw in and kick the ball high up back towards our defensive third. I went up to collect the ball. It was a real high aerial ball. I chested the ball on the first touch and i saw their striker charging at me... I was a bit panic since i was the last man standing before the goalkeeper and the second touch after i chested was a desperate clear with my left foot. Becoz its my left foot....so it didnt went far, it went straight towards an opponent player and they counter attacked.
The problem is i dun really understand the fair play rules, since its a fair play , aren't we allowed to control the ball properly first before they made any attempt to regain possession? Shouldn't he allow me to play the ball on the ground first before charging at me ? =.=" I didn't know and didnt want to take the risk so i just clear it desperately.

Cause he charged at me when the ball is in the air, even before i chested the ball. It was technically challenging becoz its a high aerial ball.
the question that i want to make it clear.
IF i didnt touch the ball and let it bounce, and he got the ball, will it be a foul (unsporting behavior)?
If he got the ball from me after i chested (before the ball touch the ground), will it be a foul (unsporting behavior)?
cause everytime i watch fair play on professional they usually wont pressure the defenders that control the ball....

you said it yourself, those are professionals..not the one you played against (I guess)

and as soon as you chested the ball, means your team is in possesion of it just like before your opponent was hurt, and he is entitled to challenge you..just my opinion on that..yeah it may be unsporting, but I understand if the ref doesn't see it as a foul

even FIFA ref won't be able to do anything. technically he's not committing a foul. the only thing TS can do next time they play is to do the same, no fair play for them. who cares if their players injured, take advantage of them completely. if they complain, point out this incident.

fifa ref will have better explanation to him laugh.gif

just play to the ref's whistle, if he doesnt blow then continue playing...unless you see the injured opponent has a weird looking leg or something

something along the line of how good communication skill with your coach is an underated detail easy to be ovelooked by young football players.

Personally i think his coach overracted. if he know his players ability well, he wouldnt make last minuted line up changes just because one of his players make a too positive remark about the opponents.
*
coach? i tot i read captain...that's true tbh, good point...but then whenever you tell your coach or in his case the captain(i assume no coach there) that he feels nervous and opponents look strong then the right thing is to let him sit out, who wants a nervy defender to play ffs...and you have to take into consideration other factors as well, maybe there were others equally good as him so the captain wants the change

or maybe becoz the captain saw him not able to control a pass well after the fair play incident so his faith in ts dropped laugh.gif

QUOTE(FLampard @ Dec 6 2010, 01:09 AM)
if you play defensive midfield u must know how to exchange role with the other centre midfield. And a lot of times, defensive midfielder doesnt have attacking role, just stand around to recover cleared ball.

When your pressuring on the ball, force him to move into the direction of another team mate, then he'll be fuked. Means loosen up and allow him to move into that direction, but if he moves away, apply intense pressure so you get to play him into the zone u want him to.

as a defensive midfield, always recover your position first , then you rest in your position. If you are force to move out of your position to pressure, once they passed the ball away from you, quickly move back to your centre - defensive position to prevent opponent exploit that space u left moving out.

Defending is more experience than technical. Let me share an example, if its a 50/50 ball, u got to calculate your odds, if you go on rampage, we'll never know the outcome and theres a good chance for injury. Instead, sometimes i just pretend to move forward then quickly move backwards. That will make him think ur coming for the ball and he 'll even accelerate faster to push the ball past you, when u take the few steps back, you already left yourself some space, and the ball is moving towards you instead of moving past you, the next thing u'll need to do is just body him and play the ball away.

Learn how to place ur body in between the ball and the opponent. And DUN let him use u as a pivot, ( alot of attackers do that ).

How do i know? i play defender lol.
