Keris sering dikaitkan dengan kuasa mistik oleh orang Melayu pada zaman dahulu. Senjata merupakan lambang kedaulatan orang Melayu sejak dari dulu lagi.

tentang diaorang kata keris berasal dari jawa.. asyik-asyik kata nak klaim.

buku ni cerita bahawa melayu minangkabau pada mulanya berasal dari gunung merapi.. kononnya keturunan berasal dari Iskandar Zulkarnain
lokasinya Gunung Merapi tu ialah di tengah-tengah kepulauan Jawa.

semasa kapal mereka tersadai di puncak gunung merapi dan membentuk komuniti di sana dulu sebelum merantau ke seluruh tanah melayu (orang minangkabau memang kuat dengan kepercayaan merantau)


kedua-dua adat yang diamalkan di tanah melayu dahulu iaitu adat temenggung dan adat perpatih.. semuanya berasal dari minangkabau.

Adat Temenggung diasaskan oleh Datuk Ketemenggungan (abang tiri kepada Datuk Perpatih Nan Sebatang yang mengasaskan Adat Perpatih)
manakala adat Perpatih diasaskan oleh Dato' Perpatih Nan Sebatang.

dalam bahasa minang keris dipanggil "kareh".

no. and u didnt see the last link did u. its from our own forum. in 2009. in english. as for why, i love history, and its for me, has nothing to do with race superiority or anything, but a genuine interest in bloodlines and history, especially such as these
