1) after considering all factors, I think I'm more of a Nikon man;
2) I'm certain with what I wanna buy (so the pinned Wanna Buy New Camera is not appropriate in my case); and
3) my post doesn't fit the Buy Club thread too. I haven't bought anything yet

1) a D7000 (without kit lens, body only. Bags etc included rite?);
2) Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC; and
3) Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G

Appreciate if you guys could tell me the estimates for the above items, together with the recommended seller. I'm based in Klang Valley, and frequently travel up north (Kedah & Penang). Thanks.

OK!!! Latest news for D7k lover in KUCHING! So far i found the cheapest in kuching is RM4590. Include Camera+lens+memory 8gb+Nikon Bag.

.... problem with me is... my target is RM4550. so i will try to bargain for the greatest deal!!

Findings from other shop. They sell roughly around 48++, which include the tripod. BUT... i guess if that tripod give you as present, i reckon u will throw it away!!!! THe tripod kaki know how to "shake". well.. dont get that, u love your D7K.

guys.. I am wondering how t do group photos. w/o having focus in one spot only. I tried using AF-S (since they are still) and center weighted.

I tried to minimize the F but it will only make the picture looks darker. any advice?

Wat is VF? vertical function ?  Totally no video mode?? ohh goshh

D7000 video is almost perfect. Now waiting for replacement of D700 with video to have something I wanted

The easiest for group set to aperture F8 to F11 and if picture turns out dark, pump up the iso or reduce the shutter speed. Having a tripod helps too.

group picture depend on the depth, then dial in the appropriate aperture.
If the group is big with 3 or more rows, you can focus on the middle row and dial in smaller aperture to get more in focus.

DOF does not mean focus one area, it means the 'depth'.

If you dial in smaller aperture (bigger f number) you'll let in less light thus your picture will be darker, so you ned to compensate with slower shutter and/or increase iso.
If your camera have depth of field preview button, try to dial in wide paerture (small f number), press the DOF preview button, take a look at your lens, you'll see the aperture wide open thus letting in much light.
Now change your aperture smaller (big f number), press the DOF preview button and see again...

It merely impossible to do group photo without flash in bad lit condition, I mean real dark with mayb 1 small light source, coz even ur hands r steady, for sure some of ur frens will move a bit, den gone ur photos.... but with more light bulbs around and a good sensor, just pump to iso 6400 lor.....

This is when the mighty D3s comes into picture .
