Hmm....feel like flashing to Doc's v3 tonight...downloading the file now....I will be the guinea pig...haha

Initially thought Darky's was quite interesting with Gingerbread theme....but Doc's now also has Gingerbread theme....so not much difference I guess...

If I want to disable Voodoo lagfix, do I create the Voodoo/ Disable Lagfix folder before or after I flash?

Btw,is it Voodoo/ Disable Lagfix or Voodoo/ Disable-Lagfix?

Thanks

I see, so between the word disable lagfix should be an "underscore" and NOT "hyphen" or "space".

So, do I create this folder before or after I flash the Rom?

Thanks
*
do it before flash

I tested Doc earlier JPU, like it but hated voodoo and speedmod/SO both crashes with JPU and lagfix performance improvement not so impressive.
Darky's relies heavily on Voodoo so, same story.

If you want everything provided by Samsung, then go with Doc or Darky but use the stock kernel to be safe. If you basic, then go with insanity and then add what is needed as and when you need it.

As for new users, get used to the phone first, upgrade to froyo using KIES and learn about the phone ability. If you linux guys, probably take you a few days to figure out what android is all about and probably come out with your own mod after a week.
*
i tested both.. n both doesnt need lagfix to be applied. plus u can disable voodoo if u dont want althou Darky's come with voodoo auto enable.

stock kernel is ok.. but ppl here want CWM be there as well.. and for me none of it will bring harm as long u follow all the instruction given.

im not a linux guy and i believe most of us here not even part of it either.. but we all share the same interest : we LOVE experimenting cool2.gif

hi cradle smile.gif

3.0.1 does come with voodoo kernel as mention on 1st page.

QUOTE
Basic Features:

Base Rom
- Based on XXJPU and BUJP8 (Froyo 2.2)

Kernel
- Kernel: SuperCurio Voodoo-5.0.2-Froyo-GT-I9000 for XXJPU Link

Modem
- JP6 (BUJP8)
- JPU (XXJPU)

but u can disable it by creating a folder name "disable_lagfix" in "voodoo" folder located in ur internal sdcard

question guys..i'm on stock FROYO and speedmod k10c. getting a lot of force close on handcent, whatsapp, pingchat (apps i use the most) and today i got it on phone! and stupid phone kinda hung..

turned it off and on again and it was at the glowing s logo for a long time (like first time boot up on froyo from eclair)

i didn't do any lagfix.. just all the tweaks with speedmod..is the problem with k10c? or i got other issues.
*
why dont u go for better update version of speedmod? mby it can resolve ur problem smile.gif

LOL... it's always vertical, never horizontal. I chose Darky because only his rom has the closest look to Gingerbread. I don like the greyish notification pull down bar in the gingerbread theme on Doc's page
*
Doc's Gingerbread Theme

this is from Vukandric (Doc's Theme) Gingerbread theme.. look at the batt stat..

compare to our Darky's ROM and engadget revier hmm.gif

YEAH!! That's the reason I choose Darky.
1. battery
2. lockscreen
3. pulldown menu, y the grey thing. lol... not my cup of tea.
But others may like it smile.gif

never tried mine though.. hw to do a test? But I heard some in XDA mentioning good GPS hmm.gif yea, if we can have the best of both worlds sad.gif
*
im using an orthodox method : click on maps biggrin.gif

1) when i was on Doc+speedmod, maps will show my location in a split second and surprisingly accurate (in my house)

2) on Darky's, lag for 1-3 sec n yet not lock accurately (few km away and i was in my house.. same condition as the 1st test)

EDIT : Yes, the only things that attach me to Darky is transition and batt position! rclxms.gif

u need to have titanium to uninstall.. not sure if it can be done from setting>application>manage application

after that reboot.. n install justpicture smile.gif

I can confirm that you can use Darky's framework on Doc's. I always change modify my own framework.
I also have bad GPS on Darky's but still sticking to it cos it's more responsive than Doc's v3 for me.
*
ouh thanks! rclxms.gif
now i know what to do when later version on Doc's become much more stable
