Instead of arguing with each other, if you have capped issue, maybe you can post the capping times and area. we can see if others in the same area are also affected. Maybe TM is doing some more capping testing or something in certain areas.

Kuching, Sarawak. Capping time usually start 9.xxpm - 12.xxam.

I thought they said the capping was supposed to be 3pm to 1am during peak times. Maybe they are capping different areas at different times so that not everyone will complain at the same time.

Actually the bandwidth hogger are UniFi users nothing being done to them tongue.gif due to the volume based is not being implemented yet. If they do ( there is no point of selling UniFi products ) .

Please note that TM are still selling their product due to unlimited and if they go for volume based like any other iSP they will fakap their revenue and there is no point using Streamyx.
*
Well, it must be a matter of time before they have to implement the data transfer limits for Unifi. If they don't, they will run out of bandwidth. If they do, people may not subscribe. Either way got problem.

The recent Unifi outage does not help in promoting Unifi. They want to cap Streamyx users and that didn't go well either. Now all the more reason Streamyx users will be careful in moving to Unifi as they know what TM is capable of doing to them especially based on their recent covert capping stunt. After all, this time they have already stated about the Unifi limits right from the start. So there is nothing much users can do when they implement it later.

I think TM now has problems all around. As I have said, what goes around, comes around...

Anyway, I have been told that TMnet invested 11 billion Ringgit in Unifi. Is that true? Any evidence provided
*
That 11.3b figure is the total investment. Not already invested. Its something like 2.4b from govt and 8.9b from TM. The 8.9b is supposed to be in stages over some 10 years I think. I think they started with the 2.4b from govt to build the initial infrastructure. That's why many areas have seen the laying of fiber by sub-contractors. When money is available to be handed out, sure things can move faster as everyone is ready to get a piece of the pie quickly. You can see how some areas had the fiber and boxes on the poles etc months ahead of actual service. Amazing how efficient that is...

doing local OR international speedtest, the result = 1Mbps package

First check your modem status to see the port settings. It should show 4096 which means the port is set correctly. Then it is probably because your account itself is still set at 1Mb which is limiting your speeds still to 1Mb rather than 4Mb speeds.

I did not speculate speedtest was rigged. Geez, stop trying to twist my words. No matter, you can decide to read my original posts as you will. I do not think that anybody would even consider the fact that anybody would hint at Speedtest.net being owned by TM. Instead of asking for clarification, you went down the condescending way of saying(yeah I'm imposing my judgment on your reply as well) "1st of all I don't think (think?) "
*
We all know speedtest.net is not operated by TM. So let's stop arguing about that.

As far as I can tell, my tests indicate speedtest.net is giving proper results for me so there should be nothing wrong with speedtest.net itself at this time.

someone who using 1mb screamyx
pls do a speedtest on xiamen china server
i would like to know am i the only person who failed to test out that server?
btw loading to china websites was awful
*
It appears that speed test to that server is slow using Streamyx connection. It may be due to congestion or maybe you can try with a different IP range and do the test. But it does not appear to be a problem with that server itself. Its to do with TM connection to that server / area / country.

Maybe TM can contribute to the research by presenting what should not be done for traffic management which will affect all users based on their own recent experience...

Maybe you can re-visit the previous Dinner with TM CEO thread where many users asked questions and gave comments and highlight those again to the CEO.

Maybe they need this to help increase broadband rate faster. Given that some 750,000 premises are supposed to be ready for HSBB, I think the subscription rate is something like 30,000 which is only half of what they expected or forecast at 60,000. If you spend around RM2 billion, surely you need to get it back. I guess this sort of partnership will bring in income from the access fee from the other telco.

Hmmm MX510, though your posts gave me the impression that you are meeting the CEO personally, since you mention it is Friday, ie 17 Dec, I am wondering now whether is this meeting actually the one scheduled between management and group of users such as bloggers etc?
