Type of camera : DSLR
Budget: Same price as Nikon D90 kit? I think around RM3000"MAX"?(VERY STRICT)
Your Location: Petaling Jaya
Preferable brand : Nikon
Any specific models in mind? : So far I had D90 set but I think it's better to get newer tech. Not saying the d90 is bad i'm just wondering if there's a better camera out there.
Any specific features u want? : Everything the D90 should be able to do maybe more? Able to use any lens, take good pictures in dark light. Used for portrait/event/street photography.
Strict 3000?
Can get a 600D/550D or Sony A580 with that range.
In terms of Iso, video performance and etc, I think D90 is on the losing side, due to the aging body, but otherwise, I view D90 as a solid camera still.

Nex5? Nex 7 already around 4k, no need to bother since your budget is way below 4k.
But if want viewfinder, need to get Nex5n.

i think your best bet below 4k would be the 60d. as im using one now, i totally recommend it.

i think with 4k you can get a 60d + 18-135mm kit.

Lol, best bet is 60D? In what sense?
With 4k, I think I can get A580 + Tamron 17-50 f2,8 liao lo.. Or maybe can get other things with the extra $$

Hi everyone, newbie here. Wish to get some advice from you guys...
I'm not sure whether I should get myself a 550D or 60D. Since the price of the 550D is lower, so i would have budget to buy a better lens.
Some said lens is actually more important than the body. Is this true?
I saw a lot of 550D users upgraded to 50D or 60D in a very short period. So I wonder is it not worth buying the 550D.
Thanks in advance for the reply

Lens > Body is true, to a certain extend.
If I were you, I did get something else, rather than something I might regret later.
Choices are, 550d or 60d, if there is sufficient cash for both, I did 60D than 550D.
