God, at last i have manage to collected my fund to buy the D7k with kitlens
i have strugle for almost 2 month of maggi and sky-juice

I was quoted RM2850 Kit lens including 8GB,Bag and Tripod.

Me and my girl are total beginners. We've only used those cheap point and shoot cameras before but we're planning on learning more about photography. I've done a little bit of research and it seems like D3100 is probably our best bet at the moment. Seems to have good features and easy to use and good for us beginners. However I've also read reviews for Canon 550D and it seems like a much better camera for not much more.

Being total beginners we'd like some advice here. Is Canon 550D worth the extra money over the D3100? I don't want to spend about 2k on D3100 and 5 months later wish I would have spent a little more on the 550D. Is it possible for us to 'outgrow' the D3100 easily? We don't mind spending a little more for 550D if it's worth it.

I'm kinda a beginner here and want to start on photography. Want to learn how to take good pictures (moving objects with blur background, up close shoot, etc..) and maybe take some video recording. Been looking around and i think the three models above are closest to what i want...but dunno which to take as i dun really understand the differences betweem those models..

Any specific features u want? :  I want to get a good overall kit as i like to travel and snap photo that i felt is worth taking. I need a external because from my experiences of using my uncle's dslr, my portrait shots are always not well lighted, and the 85mm lens is for fun to shoot bokeh and portrait, I like to take picture photo at night too, because of the playful colour of the lights and all sort of things, so a tripod would definately help.

and yah, I'm new to photography, sometimes i want a picture to be something in my mind but I can't produce a good shot, maybe it's due to the gadget or my technique.

and i'm trying to snap the picture excatly what i saw, without editing it. I think a picture should be perfect at the moment you trigger the shot. My uncle gave me this advise few months ago..

I am new in DSLR. Never have any DSLR before. Even i never touch any DSLR before this month. Suddenly got interested with photography using dslr.
initially interested with nikon d3100, suitable for beginners, but my friend (nikonian) said it's features is too basic.
d7000 is too expensive for me.
changed my mind to get canon.
recommended by my friend (canonian) 550d is good for beginners, 60d more advance.
but this month new model 600d released in market.

after go visit some camera shops in KL/PJ.. i found that 600d and 60d only difference in several hundreds of RM..
and if i take 600d + 18-135 kitlens.. i can get 60d + 18-55 kitlens with about same price.

which one should i choose? the best feature of both dslr is both have vari-angle (swivel) lcd..

actually im stuck btwn this two..dunno which to choose.
