I haven't heard any stories about unifi and international bandwidth cap.

Are you guys affected by this BS? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1661942

Oh and, please test from around 11 am to 1 am.

Finally, both internet & IPTV is now fully working on the TP-Link TL-WR841ND !! rclxms.gif  biggrin.gif
Thanks to TP-Link engineer team in making the first retail replacement for TM's DIR-615  notworthy.gif

Our nightmare on DIR-615 is now gone, we can now get a affordable yet much better product out there, and we won't worry about TM's monopoly tactic anymore!  tongue.gif

I'll update the firmware download link (specially for TM-UniFi only) once I get confirmation from TP-Link team.

Stay tune .....

Wow, very kind of them to support us. I can't believe they just did that!. Might as well ask them to do the same for the others in the series biggrin.gif. The WR**43ND etc.

Still, openwrt for users with the know-how:P. I haven't gotten around to write a guide yet, no unifi (need ~ 4 weeks before I can start writing one, and a unifi user to help me).

Honestly, I say this again. Kudos to TP-LINK for the great support. Other companies would just ignore our pleas.

Their hardware is indeed great. I have two of their routers. TM should start using theirs (wireless-n for el-cheapo prices, how to resist?).

Thanks for the info, how about DIR-825? It uses an Atheros chip...

Can I use OpenWRT as my firmware, can my IPTV be used?

OpenWRT can be used as your firmware, and your IPTV can be used as well. Since you have the exact same model as the guy I helped last time, ask him for the configuration files.

His nick is tch9

Hmm, Just installed Biz5 @ my currently working company.

Since i am still maintaining the current streamyx, isit possible to join both streamyx and Unifi with a Load balancer maybe?

Tq

Yes you can. However, you will still need the vlan bridge (the RB250GS guide on rizvanrp is a vlan bridge)

Setup would be something like this

unifi>modem>RB250GSLANBridge>loadbalance
streamyx>modem>loadbalance

loadbalance>computers

For hardcore know-it-all users can use OpenWRT to do both vlan tagging and load balancing on the same router. I recommend WR1043ND.

Setup:-

unifi>modem>OpenWrt Atheros
streamyx>modem>OpenWrt Atheros

openwrt atheros > computers

Already pissed off with the current DIR-615 by TM, can't even do a proper port-fowarding, but intended to keep as a backup router as i couldn't "Flash" that TM toy into OpenWRT can i? it's safer to have a backup toy ~_~

Just brought my own TP-link WR1043ND from my house to do some testing on it, just flashed to Open-WRT

already done Port tagging for vlan 500

For WiFi, not sure how to configure, kmod-ath9k, and Wpad-Mini, where to find this stuffs >.<

tq~

EDIT

Now wondering where is the DDNS functions are, and what could i possibly do on all this toy... too much function!!!

Use Backfire 10.03.1-rc4. That one has wireless already installed. 10.03 doesn't have wireless installed by default.

Plus, vlan 500 works? AFAIK you need to enable vlan4k first...

OpenWrt has more than 1000 linux softwares you can install on it. thumbup.gif

You can join my beta testing team for making OpenWrt work with unifi.

haha, now i wondering where is vlan4k, already search in the package list, didn't see anything similiar... smile.gif

not sure where else i could find smile.gif

tq~

Under /etc/config/network, there's a line

option 'enable_vlan' '1'

Put underneath it, this line,

option 'enable_vlan4k' '1'
