I have been wanting to give my comments since the match but my laptop so fakap already so had to wait until now..finally get to give my views..haha
Credit is where credit is due..I know everyone hated Pardew and I was one of them and I still hate him..i said he MUST win against Sunderland in January, or get a good FA Cup run or at the very least he MUST keep us up for me to really respect him.. But while others here have said the win was because of the players, CH, Peter Beardsley and other members of the staff, I would also credit the win to Pardew..why? coz he came in, respected the players, respected how CH set up the team and kept to it..he could have easily came in and change the whole set up of the team from back to front..he could have easily played his own style of game but he did not and instead he still followed how we played under CH..read Joey Barton's comment and you can see he said Pardew just tweaked one or two things to make us better.. so good start by Pardew..if he can get points against teams like Birmingham next up, and keep us getting consistent, then he would could do something that CH could not really get to grips which is getting results against lesser teams..we will see how this progresses.. I have said this for a long time and i agree with the earlier comments that we need Harper..sorry..but Harper is still better than Krul..yes Krul can make great outstanding flying saves..but i have said this before that Krul does not dominate the penalty area and his organisation and communication with the defenders is not good..in the 1st half alone, he and Steven Taylor got mixed up on more than one occasion..and for the second week running, Krul has been flapping at corners..and he was lucky both times too..he's a great keeper but Harper still has the greater experience.. Nile Ranger..did he eat his vegetables this week coz look like he ate Popye's spainache!!! he is faster than Ameobi but he needs to be strong like Amobi..if he can be as strong as he was on Saturday, then he could start a lot more games.. Carrol was fantastic bullying Liverpool defenders..but what was also crucial was Barton supplying those crosses..unlike Danny Guthrie..just shows what a class player Barton is..and he is quickly becoming my fav player..might get his name on the back of my away shirt soon Finally, I would like to urge all of you guys here to write in to Astro's football chat chow,Bola@Mamak on Astro Supersport 3 (CH817)..write in and gloat about our win over Liverpool to Dez Cockhill..here are some points that u guys should point out: -Dez Cockhill labels Newcastle a Championship team..well, then our Championship team just beat the bloody hell out of his team that has WORLD CUP WINNERS!!! -Dez Cockhill says Newcastle are a one man team with Andy Carroll..well then he obvioulsy forgotten that we have two Liverpool born players that scored against his team..and before Dez Cockhill starts saying Liverpool were missing Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, that just shows Liverpool are also a one or two or three man team and are shit without them.. Do forward ur comment to that show..i will do it and hope others can stick it in his face his team just lost to a Championship team..his team must be League 1 quality then..no disrespect at all to Liverpool fans..I have a lot of friends who are Liverpool fans and we are respectable of each other but we just hate Dez Cockhill coz he is busy talking crap and labeling other teams when his team is doing no better.. Finally I can confirm that our match against Birmingham City on Saturday is on DELAYED at 4am..the match against Manchester City has a 50% chance of being LIVE..2/3 slots for that week's games has been taken up with the final one to be confirmed later..do visit my thread to check on updates for LIVE matches.. damn..i hate my laptop..i just soooooo miss coming into this thread that 1 week away i was really bummed as if the season ended..
anyways..about the match against Man City, we played well and good..on another day against another team, we would have come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2..I think we showed the spirit of Hughton still lives and also the spirirt that the players are willing to work for Pardew..kudos to Pardew for keeping the players playing the way they should and not tinker around with.. one big let down for me was Tiote..especially in the 1st half..he looked like a player who wanted to be back in his home country warm and comfortable with his family celebrating Christmas..his passing was all over the place and he just didnt want to go in tough against Yaya Toure..he did pretty good in the 2nd half but his carelessness in the 1st half cost us dearly.. as for Krul..i have said it before but we need Harper to organise the defence..full stop.. and i hope we fans here dont get too negative..just read some earlier post after we went 2-0 down..damn some here said we would lose 7-0 or 8-0..where is the spirit and faith? and lets say we won or drew last night..i bet those who said we would get hammered would suddenly praise the team and suddenly claim to be the number 1 fan of the team.. These type of fans know who themselves are and should be ashamed for not trusting and having faith in the team and the players..i suggest to these people who lambast the team and make stupid predictions after 10 minutes of the game to shut up and watch the match till the end before posting ur negative comments..if u wish to say the negative about the team, dont be such a turncoat and suddenly praise the team when they are winning.. a true Toon Army follower would support the team through highs and lows..not mock the team when losing and cheering them like champions when winning.. HOWAY THE LADS..LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST AT SPURS IN WHAT HAS BEEN A GREAT 2010 FOR NUFC..!!!! This post has been edited by dxjb: Dec 28 2010, 12:21 AM |

Tottenham v Newcastle line-ups:
Tottenham: Gomes, Hutton, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Palacios, Modric, Bale, Pavlyuchenko, Van der Vaart. Subs: Pletikosa, Jenas, Keane, Crouch, Bassong, Kranjcar, Corluka. Newcastle: Krul, Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Perch, Tiote, Barton, Routledge, Simpson, Smith, Gutierrez, Carroll. Subs: Harper, Williamson, Lovenkrands, Xisco, Best, Kadar, Ranger. wow..JAMES PERCH IS BACK..although many ha him, even me, lets not be too negative and say we will lose becuase of him..lets just see how we play tonight.. 4-5-1..Smith in for Nolan..would have wanted Ranger in instead..its ok..we need to stop their midfield..they are without Defoe.. |

in a nutshell..lack of quality
we cant fault the players for their attitude and commitment..their work rate was still good as they played to the final whistle even though there was no chance of drawing..a Newcastle of 2 years ago under captain Owen would have been sulking with no sign of a fightback..they would have just wanted to get the game over with, get into the dressing room, take a bath and get on the coach home..today, the players did play till the final whistle and could even have scored.. the VITAL thing that we lacked today was quality..Barton, Tiote, Routledge and even Carroll all had a bad day at the office..our team has a bad habit of failing to pass at the 1st attempt which is really schoolboy stuff..need to cut it out and improve the passing game..well..that is Man City and Spurs done with..could have got a draw against City but lost..committed against Spurs but lacked quality and lost.. now we have Wigan and West Ham next..4points from these two games would be good but getting all six would be great..we should not sulk too much about this result.. p/s: spurs players are like Ballet girls..flying all over the place with the slightest of touch..referee fell for most of it but Tiote was lucky not to be sent off..and Bale is sooooo over rated..hate the guy.. QUOTE(apanzhafran @ Dec 29 2010, 01:18 AM) january we need strengthening in this areas santa claus can grant all ur wishes come true..but even Santa cant make MikeAshley spend some money for new players!!! Leftback (main priorities) Rightback Defensive Midfielder (only tiote is proper DM) Right Winger (ben arfa will be back on february hopefully but his better in AMC role) Pacey striker (only lovenkrands atm, we already have taller strong target man in carroll ameobi and ranger, we need a poacher and a speedster) |

owh..may i add something that i forgot to mention..
we missed Nolan today who would have helped Carroll upfront and also release some of the burden of Barton a bit.. of course we missed Jose Enrique down the left..but cant say Perch did bad..the 1st goal was due to Lennon's pace..not too many left backs can keep up with that speeder..Perch's only fault for the goal was to let Lennon get at him instead of closing him down..so cant be too harsh on Perch..i also agree that Smith did his job today and i think he was better and more composed than Tiote who is having a very poor lack of form..starting even before the Man City game for me.. and 1 more player who for me is a player that we often are unhappy with but actually does bring something different to our team is Ameobi..we miss him getting in behind the defence and also holding the ball up for player like Carroll and Nolan..hope he can recover quickly.. and how long more before Harper can come in and take his place..? Krul did nothing wrong today but i cannot stress how we need Harper's organistional experience at the back of our defence This post has been edited by dxjb: Dec 29 2010, 01:34 AM |

QUOTE(apanzhafran @ Dec 29 2010, 01:50 AM) I hope some QATAR santa claus will listen haha Aaron Ramsey already at Notts Forest on loan..we should go shopping at Man City..they got New Year SALE i think..also at Aston Villa..stephen Ireland wants out..i will be happy with one new leftback addition, even a loan will be good enough, il welcome van aanholt or wayne bridge anytime to give enrique a run for his money aaron ramsey is free on loan too (great CM,AMC and can play wing also) on january with others like ryan bertrand but i rather give kadar a trial and shane ferguson looks impressive when he played last time i wonder if we can recall lua-lua back and give him a chance, he did pretty well for championship, cant do much worst than routledge i reckon oh DAN GOSLING WILL BE BACK TOO woot he can play RB and CM/DM |

QUOTE(arcaloveher @ Dec 29 2010, 01:59 AM) Why not put Jonas on the right instead, its a no brainer really if he is not performing on the left My opinion is that Jonas cant be relied on with his crossing even when he is on the right flsnk..true enough he has supplied some crosses for goals that u mentioned..but its so rare that we are not guaranteed that it will happen even once in a game..so if he plays on the right and cannot cross well and has no chemistry with the right back, whats the use of him on the right? No doubt he's partnership with Enrique is good, but at least try playing a player in his natural position and we MIGHT see some decency in his crossing because twice Jonas took a corner, twice the ball went back into the net 1 was against Chelsea for Ameobi and 1 was for Colo's goal against Wigan IINM at least when Jonas is on the left, the least we know he links up well with Jose..another thing is, when he plays in the left, its easier for a right footed player to dribble inside..if he plays on the right, he needs pace..super pace ala Lennon today..Jonas doesnt have that.. all in all, what we need are players who are creative enough with quality to put some through passes to the strikers..long ball is too predictable..Jonas needs to go on his dribbling runs again..he can do that well.. |

Barton had a lot on his shoulders really..he had to be captain plus play behind Carroll on top of carrying out his normal duties supplying the crosses plus the abuse he got from Spurs players and fans..but why wasnt Smith captain? he should be when Nolan isnt playing and he is in the team..
i sure hate Spurs and would really want us to whoop their backside back at SJP..some of their players have just big fat egos and think they are too good..we can whip them up and return the abuse back at SJP..i guarantee them that! This post has been edited by dxjb: Dec 29 2010, 02:37 AM |

QUOTE(arcaloveher @ Dec 29 2010, 02:43 AM) My assumption is Pardew thought the captain's armband would motivate Barton to play better, instead it partly backfired One thing i liked seeing Barton as captain was how he backed up his fellow team mates who got in trouble and were having some afters with the Spurs players..one of them was when Simpson ( i think) brought down VDV..VDV complained too much and Simpson was unhappy..captain Barton came in and had a real go at VDV..Smith is also another captain who really stands up for his team mates..Nolan is a bit softer..he is a bit diplomatic as he calms the situation down..which is the best way of course..all of our captains now are waaayyy better than our captain 2 years ago..As you wish man, think I caught Barton saying f**k you to VDV or Jenas just now haha, VDV gets down too easily for my liking, no doubt he is a good player though QUOTE(apanzhafran @ Dec 29 2010, 02:45 AM) aaron ramsey loan period is until january bro yea i know Ramsey loan period ends in January but wouldnt Wenger take him back as he might be fit then? i really dont believe we can get star quality nowadays to our club..although Ben Arfa is an exception..any big star would really be heading to big club like Man City or Spurs now rather than us..however, our scouts at our club seem to be doin a good job unearth some unknown names and making them stars..so his free on for new loan, i see jack wilshere now so no place for him i think if enrique is not playing jonas should be put on the right side, but when enrique playing they are one of the best combos that we have, oh my we need wingers and fullbacks desperately to feed our strikers, thats the main reason we been lacking in recent years, a really quality wingers who can cross like robert, solano, heck i would say dyer was good when he was at st james park....its a shame really carroll is on the form of his life, i take mr beckham on loan anytime ahha Williamson, Tiote, even the likes of Jonas and Jose are players who were unheard of before playing for us..i guess Fat Mike has the policy of making stars rather than buy them..i couldnt care less if we buy some unknown players as long as they are quality players.. on another note..hope Leon Best can be given a chance to play a few games..if he is not good enough, we could loan him out or sell him altogether..need to see him play first though.. I think Pardew is right to be criticise Enrique in this case..when Jose himself revealed that he wasnt playing because of injury, some way or another, Spurs took advantage of this..no one knew Jose would be out..no news or media outlet had an inkling of an idea he was out..what Jose disclosed effectively played into Spurs' hands..so yeah..Pardew could be right for getting mad..but hopes this doesnt mean any sort of falling out or worse..
Players need to know their limitsand obviously Jose forgot his..the media can be so mean and cruel to use his twitter comments and turn them into rubbish hat could lead to huge disruptions in the team..hope Jose and everyone else learn their lesson from this.. An Andy Carroll and Robbie Keane striking partnership at front for Newcastle United? Sounds interesting..can it happen? Wait and see..
Rumors has it that Hatem Ben Arfa will sign permanently for Newcastle United next week for 5.1 million pounds..that would be a great coup for the club..lets all pray it becomes true.. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-u...72703-27907946/ This post has been edited by dxjb: Dec 31 2010, 01:27 AM |

No Carroll..hmm..would have thought Wigan were an opposition easy for him to bully..he doesnt like being able for West Ham too..I dont like to critical of our own players especially if they have proven to make a fool of what we have said about them before..
hence Im not bothered if Ameobi plays or not..sure we fans always says he is crap and so on..and sometimes its true coz he does suck..But he scored two goals including the last minute against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Carling Cup, scored two against Sunderland, and I remember everyone who had criticise him before, suddenly idolised him..same goes for Xisco..some might not want him but what if he scores hat trick tomorrow? i bet u those who have been knocking him will suddenly like him like crazy.. What Im trying to say is if we are true fans, we should not be so negative about the team and the players even before a ball is even kicked..if during or after a match, we have played badly, then yes we can criticise the team but it should be constructive criticism..not talking trash and insulting the team and players with rude remarks and vulgar words.. We should always back the team when when we winning or losing..we should always hold our pride's team high..if we dont support and be positive about the team, then who will? If ur not prepared to support NUFC, then support another teams.. p/s: Jose Enrique and Shola Ameobi will be available for Wigan's match, some reports say Harper will be back in goal and some reports also say Gosling will be back in the squad..' MATCHDAY REMINDER: SUNDAY 2 JANUARY 2010 WIGAN ATHLETIC VS NEWCASTLE UNITED ASTRO SUPERSPORT 3 (CH817) & SUPERSPORT HD (CH831) 11.55 pm LIVE |
