I think its fair to see we Newcastle fans need to lower expectations of big name summer signings..reality is ainful..why would thoswe big name players wanna play for us when most probably the bigger clubs are also interested in them especially with the offer of Champions League football..

Another worryng thing is that Alan Pardew fancies established and well known players..that is not necessarily a good thing..for exaple. he took in Stephen Ireland eventhough the lad was injured..sure he was good when he did play but big name reputation player never really lived up to his billing..thats what I fear with Pardew..he might go for players like Carlton Cole or Paul Konchesky or sumthing..

Thats where Mike Ashley's policies will help us out..unbelivably..Ashley wants players with potential, young and also maybe will have high value to sell on..so hopefully, that will rule out big name hasbeens coming to SJP..

I would rather settle for unknown names with bags of qulaity and cheap in price like another Tiote o Williamson rather than going for these big name players with huge transfer fees..

To be fair, the scouts have done a great job at the club..bringing in players like Tiote, Williamson, Ben Arfa, Vuckic..they have done their jobs impressive an Im sure they will be able to do the business again this summer..Credit also has to be given to Ashley for not following in the footsteps of the previous Newcastle board who would pay ridiculous amount of transfer fees and wages for big name flops..the account books at SJP look a lot healthier than it has been before thats for sure..
