Looks like the cheapest now would be the Toshiba Regza 42ZV600E if you still can find 1 because has just been discontinued, price around RM3,100.

http://www.regza.com.my/regza/lcd-tv/models/42ZV600E

1) Full HD --> Yes

2) 200Hz Motion Flow --> Partially yes. With Clear Scan 200, which combines a 100Hz rate with scanning backlight technology to achieve the equivalent of a 200Hz effect.

3) 2 - 3 HDMI ports (the more the better) --> 4 HDMI

4) Preferred brands like Samsung, Sharp & Philips? (Not sure) --> sorry it is a Toshiba

5) Reasonable years of Warranty --> 2 Year General Warranty and 1 Year All Risk Insurance

Plus it comes with 30watt woofer biggrin.gif

Using this one.. and it's called the TH-L42D25K

- Slim / Thin
- Seems to consume low power
- Network Capabilities
- USB for Adaptor for Wifi
- USB for webcam for Skype
- USB for Thumbdrive to play movies, etc
- SD Card slot to play movies, etc
- Optical Audio Out (so I can watch TV with audio coming out from my AVR instead of puny TV speakers)
- Headphone Jack to watch *ahem*
- Pretty darn good viewing angle
- Don't see any 'artificial' picture or images, especially so after tweaking it to my liking

Don't quite fancy it's
- Purplish Frame
- No 200Hz
- No larger size (at the moment)

200Hz for LCD, u sure u got the budget or not? (coz u say tight budget.) if not, plasma is enuff

I'm not sure how much an average 200Hz LCD would cost. If its too expansive, then probably the 100Hz LCD or LED will do the trick. Kindly advise & thanks! =D

if get wanna get LED backlit LCD, get the full array backlit LED rather than edgelit LED. No doubt edgelit is thinner, but the screen get brighter in the edge and darker at the center

Plasma TV can reflect image especially when in dark scene. However LEC & LCD don't have this kind of problem. If you don't mind Plasma would be a decent purchase. Motion flow is just a bonus for a TV.

Thanks to all the LED/LCD Guru's out there for your time regarding this.

Samsung LA40C530 or LG 42LD460/42LD450?
1) Mainly used for mom seeing astro/astro beyond
2) Used for Animations from 480p-720p(Using External non powered HDD or portable HDD), would be great with 1080p as well
3) Contemplating on using a hd media player instead of built in..need recommendations for this...
4) Can I use HDMI connecting from laptop/notebook to the TV? Would it burn my graphics card in the long run?
5) Should i go LED technology instead? Since its newer and new confirms the availability of spare parts in the coming 5-10years?...
6) Really hoping for good quality audio for the paid price as I'm really fussy when it comes to audio quality.

Really having a headache choosing as this is my first time contemplating over purchasing a LED/LCD/Plasma TV... My main focus is for it to last a long and reasonable time in both terms of durability and repair(Spare part availability)

Thanks alot!

also about UA40C5000 for samsung and corresponding LED tv within its price range?

Planning to get it before Chinese New year..
