it was a 50-50 ball. no doubt about it but what went wrong was Gerrard use 2 footed challenge to win the ball which is very wrong even though he wasn't intended to hurt Carrick.
Ironically, Rafael also made 2 footed tackle against Merieles. Hmm, where was Webb at that time.
Btw, did anyone notice Giggs failed dive attempt to win another penalty right after the quadruple save from Reina. That should have been a yellow to me.
For me yesterday was a case of a team with new manager and new tactic (that players haven't fully grasped it) VS a stable team. I was hoping for a positive result. But, being realistic I think the result should not be a surprise.
I think it could be easier to get away with a point by playing defensively especially after they equalized. But kudos to KK. He chose to stick with the plan and try to get a win. It could have go either way. I think the game itself serves as a training for the players to familiarize with KK tactic and definitely will expedite the process. And KK can also fully asses his players.
