for all you know, maybe he meant that as a joke. besides, what does it mean by "want to be like Tevez?" does he mean the spirit of want to play, or dissing the manager? can be interpreted in many way my friend

Enough is enough mate, there's no need to quote others in a sarcasm tone, over and over again, when the disagreement has already long gone. Keep on bringing up that issue, it's very annoying and if another banter starts, it's just very displeasing to other MUST members.

Sad to say, the magic of MU's no7 doesn't work on Owen

dont think anyone should get the no7 at the moment, either they are good with their own number, or not up to the standard yet.
Maybe Bebe? |

QUOTE(SGSuser @ Dec 6 2010, 08:31 PM) personally don't think there is a must to give the no7 to good or great players only..even Ronaldo wasn't known by a lot when he joined the club..the number doesnt set the standards for a player, the player sets his own standards Ronaldo wasnt known by a lot doesnt mean he wasn't good. in fact he was, do you know all the players asked SAF to buy him when they played against him in 2003? either he is already good, or his potential is for all of them to see. The number doesnt set the standard, but dont you think that number itself is magical and historic? so many legends of United wear that number. Yes, maybe you dont have to start good to wear that number. but that player must be able to continue that tradition if u get what i mean. United's no7 is always something, for whatever reason will give the wearer an extra edge. Even Owen can claim legendhood in MU's folklore with the goal against City in the 4-3 win last season. Imagine if Manucho were given the 7 This post has been edited by pyroboy1911: Dec 6 2010, 08:48 PM |

Hhmm..many said coz of Lampard's absence, but i think they played well the first few matches after his injury. Then when they started losing only they say miss Lampard. I think the main issue is they lost their core men Lampard, Terry, Essien to injury and suspension, and their backup players cant fill in that role as well as those injured ones. Terry and Essien came back for the Everton game yes, but hey...cant expect the team to immediately get back to winning ways right? they just gotta be patient and run it off, the biggest mistake they can ever do (again) is to sack Ancelotti. Changing manager is never ever a fast solution to get back to winning. my 2 cents.

QUOTE(SGSuser @ Dec 6 2010, 09:47 PM) that's exactly my point, which is why I don't get your logic of "not up to the standard yet"..I mean, how on earth do we determine whether a player is good enough or not to don that kit with 7?(dont take that too far with Manucho or Dong or Djemba djemba etc aah i guess i have not think properly before mentioning that unless SAF wants to vacant it, then bring in some youngsters to play..the best of the lot for a few years gets to wear it...but that whole thing is unlikely to happen Added on December 6, 2010, 10:00 pmcome to think of it, no super #7 also nvm..got #10 also what im trying to say is, to some extend United's no7 are proven players. Cantona were proven when he came over. becks has a few season already showing his stuff before taking over. Cristiano is an exception, but like i said we dont know him, doesnt mean SAF isnt aware of his ability. Maybe not to the extend of the World's best player, but well enough to merit the 7 i guess. and Owen though hard to justify, maybe due to his past experience. Or maybe like Wan said, used to divert attention so this may be an exception. So by saying not up to standard, i mean at this point of time, doesnt seem like any of the youngsters can be classed into that "United's magnificent 7" group yet. Maybe Bebe? Maybe Cleverley when he returns? they all need to earn the rights. What you said at the end, to give it to the player that merits it after a few season, is roughly what i meant. Of course i dont mean ALL no7 must be great hoo-haas, but they must at least prove to SAF why they belong/will belong to that group. we wouldnt want a number 7 that is only reserve material and is looking to move to other smaller clubs to get more playing time. if that happens then not the end of the world la, like some said its just a number. But its not a number that is simply given to anyone also. This post has been edited by pyroboy1911: Dec 6 2010, 10:13 PM |

Somehow i prefer Glazer, if compared to say owners like Abramovich who is so keen to meddle in business himself. If a junta own MU, i bet he will wanna send the players to a coal mine after a loss!

QUOTE(Wan @ Dec 7 2010, 09:26 PM) Well I don't want us to be stuck in this kinda situation where we have the debt to worry about. But now that we're stuck with it, might well just see it through. The Glazers made an investment, and it's for their own good that we do well in all areas possible. It might not work out later on, but it's too late to change things now unless some really rich guy buy us from the Glazers and remove the debt which won't happen, ever, unless one of you guys is that rich guy. I still believe in the idea that whatever happens, the Glazers will be able to cover it with their own money should the need arises. We'll see. i agree. The debt has still some time to mature, so hopefully they already have a plan to deal with it when the time comes. If SAF trusted them, then i guess we should too. Besides, i'm really scared of the prospect of a single billionaire owner who will wanna do whatever he pleases because it is his team.Wonder how SAF will line up. Rooney as the lone striker or go with 442? |
