with 4-4-2, i believe either Chelsea kill us, or we kill them.. will be an open game.. like this year Community Shield.

with 4-3-3, tight affair. a 1 goal margin victory to either side or draw.

i love to see Park in 4-3-3 as the midfield 3 and Berbatov play. in means we can interchange 4-3-3 and 4-4-2 without changing personal. Park can be a CAM or LW.

our attacking strength is counter attacking. but i dont recall any counter attacking goal against Chelsea in recent years (maybe we can count Valencia's goal in CS). their defenders are very discipline unlike Arsenal. so Berbatov lack of speed will not a big issue. his composure, penetrative passes, and silky skills might be a great weapon against them if we get a greater possession.

Berbatov lack of speed is really a myth cos SAF said he is as fast as Rooney laugh.gif

Seriously, i would say the centre of Chelsea defence is really their soft spot now. The lack of speed and also the big turning radius of John Terry is apparent. Both Roo and Berbatov's link up play could cause a lot of trouble. I would say this is the game where we need both of them on the field

We fared well against them in Charity Shield with 4-4-2. Why not for this weekend? With Rooney and Berbatov up front, things could get messy for them. But then again, we could only guess, SAF has the final verdict.

I hope he goes with 4-4-2 with Scholes/Ando - Carrick in midfield. Somehow, I got that sneaky feeling that he might go 4-5-1/4-3-3 with the probability Park will be dropped for Berbatov or Berbatov not playing. I hope my instinct will go wrong on this one.

Oh and yeah, expect Stoke City to put some fight against Arsenal. And, if they do, we might see comments like

"Stoke City players are dirty.."

17(Ars) -8 (Us) fouls for the last match. Which team is dirty again?

well SAF is known to using 4-5-1 away in Europe. the lone striker system worked well against Arsenal so SAF might be tempted to stick with the system

with our 2 points lead and a game in hand - i think SAF will quietly take a draw, oh well perhaps tongue.gif

Lampard is back. So a more possibility of a 4-5-1 to cover the midfield. But I can see Berba playing after not even started against Arsenal. Fergie would want to utilise Park as much as he can before going to Asia Cup.

Their counter argument would be: Howard Webb is a friend of MU.

TBH I've hardly seen Chelsea play with a formation other than 4-3-3 with or witout Lampard. Even when they have both Drogba and Anelka on, they still play with a 4-3-3 with Anelka playing as one of the wide players up front. Lampard back in would just mean either Mikel or Ramires will be dropped to accommodate him in the middle of the park.

he love to get forward but his discipline unquestionable. even on his average days, he still can nullify any top class winger, including Ronaldo. i never see him outplayed by any wingers, but TBF im not watched Chelsea very much.

Rafael-Nani against Cole (with help Malouda /Anelka) will be a great battle. but Ferreira on RB will be Chelsea's achilles heel. we might see Nani swap to left to exploit this weakness. Park cant do much damage in flanks, but when he drift inside, we have an extra runner to cover an attacking and defensive duty.

cant wait..

I really can't wait for this game. Will SAF play Berbatov or play 4-5-1?

Park is useful to "stick" on opponent's fullbacks until the make mistakes like silly back pass or ball possession being robbed by Park, that's Park's strength laugh.gif

I think it will be a 4-5-1 again...cuz with Lampard back to Chelsea, they will use 4-3-3 with Anelka and Kalou as wide to support Drogba.

Anderson Carrick plus Scholes will be good to compete with Lampard Essien and ? ? (i also don't know got who laugh.gif )

what ever the formation, one thing needs to be clear we play for 3 pts and whether we can achieve that by lining up every one in front of goal or the other way around wont count much.

it used to be the pools game where form/formation doesnt count but these days its ski or guns.i think its underestimating if we say they will kill us or we will kill them depending on a mere formation.

my take it "could" be anything from 1/3 pts but who will blink first is important here, us or them???
