oh,
i thought usually they charges on RM100 for 3runs...  rolleyes.gif
can schedule on another day ge ...  biggrin.gif
Have tried to reduce my engine oil at the shop that i changed tires last time,
the mech use a long/slim tube connect to airpump and using sucking way to 'suck' out some of the engine oil from the dipstick hole there.
*
yea one of the methods. much cleaner work rather than jacking the car and unbolt the bolt to drain.

what unlock????? our stock ecu cant do much except for resetting it and re-set the settings to original or optimum specs only. RM60 to do.

Added on December 11, 2010, 11:25 amhonestly speaking, from this two dyno charts from me and zeng shows that persona's 1.6L engine really sucks and underpower.

anyone out there did any tunings or mods to the engine to increase it???? AND PROVEN?????

U may engage Jacky from Serdang SC, he can unlock Persona ECU (jailbreak), and he put in his own formula (data which he tested) to ECU. Originally, our ECU got the potential to perform to the MAX. No doubt, for PE, which use 32 bit ECU, much more mapping point can set. for 16 bit ECU, about 64 mapping point, for 32 bit ECU, it around 130 mapping point can be set. After jailbreking the ECU, u will feel the torque like 1.8cc, no more lacking power when on low rev. Top speed easier can be archive. Don't simply go to ask him when in public, he do it underground.

for auto, when gear changing, u will feel power lost, ur car feel no energy, after the ECU breaking, u will suprise. smile.gif

anyone here changed to aftermarket header on their persona???

if change ONLY the header, will it cause metallic noises when the engine rpm climbs???

i am asking because i had experience with metallic noises with my other car when i only change the header.

y need to replace ?
*
Because of this... engine oil leak through the join of the engine oil dipstick guide and engine oil pan. My point of view is just replace the o-ring will do. BUT Proton says they don't do such way but to order new dipstick guide as whole replacement. Me thinking....oh well what the heck. I don't care. Just fix it. laugh.gif

can be kept for as long as you want. provided that its kept in dry area whereby no possible rusting / deterioration of any kind would develop.

hi guys, just to share some info I found out to you guys who plan to service their car outside in future or buy any ATF oil....or for those who buy the ATF SPIII auto oil from spare parts better beware as i bought and found out its fake oil even the bottle pakaging is same and ALMOST most of the spare parts i been, i can see they are selling the fake oil.....so i bought the atf SPIII from Proton SC as a comparison.... original costs RM30.91 per liter.....and those spare parts usually around RM15-30..and heck i see some of the tire shop also selling the fake atf spiii and some even priced it at RM35 per bottle.... doh.gif

below are the differences of original packaging and fake ones....

can you see the differences?
original is right and fake is left hand side

[attachmentid=1950814]

Original packaging:
i) Cap have better quality and have the "RUBBERY" feeling when you scratch it with ur nails or thumb. and the cap wont turn when you twist to open it...it has solid position and stays the same even u try to turn it.
ii) Logo & batch number on top (directly behind the "SPIII" wording)
iii) the color of the sticker on original is real blue...or lighter blue.
iv) the proton logo on the front and back is not as sharp as fake ones.

Pics of original
[attachmentid=1950821]
the green circle is the batch number & logo located behind the "SP III" wording where the fake ones is the red circle on the bottom

[attachmentid=1950823] original- the logo is slightly "BLUNT" and tiger shape has slightly "BLUNT" effect

[attachmentid=1950828] fake- logo and tiger shape is sharper and sharper edges.

[attachmentid=1950831]
original- you can feel the "RUBBERY" feeling when u rub or scratch it with your fingernail/thumb... and also smooth surface
fake- plastic cap is "DULL" color...and the cap can turn when you twist the cap.... (I notice this when one of this bottle leak)
just click on the picture to view a bigger resolution....

for those who planing to service their car outside better buy the own first from Proton SC then only change...dont change directly from the workshop or buy from spareparts even you know the person... play safe people...even its cheaper 10-20 bucks but once the transmission gone....$$$$$$$ sweat.gif
icon_rolleyes.gif have a great day

thanks for your inputs. i'll take note of this.

hi sorry to interrupt. i'm new here..

any of u have power sluggish issues? mine is like struggling when goin up genting or climbing hills.
mine is a 2008 h-line AT, 27k+ mileage.

how do we know if our campro is with iafm or not?

thx.
*
Being experienced in driving / owning a VVT equipped engine for years before... Campro engine is no match at all as it is a pretty old school technology which nothing to shout about at all.

Most obvious are during hilly roads whereby VVT engines really makes a lot of difference. VVT technology also makes a lot of difference while driving in city roads / when car is loaded with peeps.

ok guys, a few questions here....

does u all replace your fuel filter during 20k service? from the proton site service list for 20k seems like they need to replace it, but is it necessary?

my oil slump is leaking, anyone face this problem be4?
*
oil sump leaking??? see carefully.

if its like this photo i took of my car... yes it is caused by the bad o-ring oil seal at the joint of the oil sump and the engine oil dipstick guide tube. the parts arrived already. i have yet to bring my car there cuz busy.

I am happy with my 2009 Persona compared to my previous new MyVi that i driven for 4 years, shit car low QC.

Current mileage 30k KM.

Problems i had with my 2009 Persona are:

MAJOR
1. IAFM faulty at around 5k KM. - Tak tak tak tak sound heard while engine idle. Replaced.
2. Front disc rotor warped at around 7k KM - Replaced on the spot and till now all good

MINOR

1. Smelly air from outside can enter. Fixed
2. Some rattle noises from the lower dashboard panel at the driver side.... Identified the spot and still checking on it on how to solve it. To DIY.
3. Front disc brake caliper rattle (knocking sound when passing thick yellow lines). To send it for modification on the mounting eg. rebore and custom fit bushing. Still thinking about it. Putting thick high temp grease only "solve" the problem for a while. It will come back in 2-3 months time.
4. My front passenger door lock striker plastic tube broke. To be replaced. Waiting for parts to arrive.

The back lowered suspension looks really flush. Have u had any problems with the tire knocking the fender?
Yeah too many nice looking rims for 5holes.. There are a lot of 4holes rims too.. But mostly PCD100.. Persona 100whp max one.. There wont be enough of torque stress to spoilt any of the components lah.. Unless u turbocharged to 200-300whp then probably lah.. But not with a stock engine.
I spy a carbon stickered B and window Pillars!!  icon_rolleyes.gif
And a moving cannycool advertiser.  tongue.gif  When i tinted there i specifically told them to make sure that isnt there. XD
Persona with blacktop engine??!! 4AGE 20V??  whistling.gif  tongue.gif

Something else i noticed

yea i purposely install low springs only at the rear to level the car. stock persona suspension really look damn stupid with the butt tonggek like what. so far, it does not hit the fender (rear) BUT... touches the inner bumper plastics when the car goes through a bump hard. i hv cut a bit off a plastic part with a pen knife since i saw the rubbing marks. but then i think it rubs the other plastic part in there.... anyways.... i am still investigating on this part. to report back later once i found it.

just an interesting note to you all which i found out long time ago couple of months after i own my car in 2009.

to lower ur persona pretty much like stock is easy.

1. Change the front & back absorber to Gen2. Why? Gen2's absorber body length is the same BUT the spring seats are lower about almost an inch. That is why u see Gen2 with lower profile tires still look pretty ok in stock height (no big gaps).
2. Persona's rear coil springs are the same with Gen2.
3. Persona's front coil springs are not the same with Gen2. So its either you maintain OR change the coils (front) to Gen2 as well. But if u change the front coils to Gen2, then u need to buy the top seat for it too since Persona's front coils have different sizes top and bottom (conical shaped).

NOTE: For mine i changed only the rear coil springs to APM Performax low springs to level out the ride. And it still drives exactly like stock.
