it depends on what casing are u using,
u know, the sata hdd cant withstand excessive vibration, knock or water

its different with new solid state drive
it can withstand shock and extreem compression
hehe..the price?? u get what u paid..rm1000 for 80gb tongue.gif

i've got a not so similar experience with my hard drive it was when i bought a 500gig seagate barracuda and broke the sata connector copper pins when installing it, brought back to the shop and they cant fix it so just throw it away. As simple as that 500gig burn rclxm9.gif

bout 2 years ago ,i had a shocking experience. i woke up one morning and switched on my desktop .suddenly ,there was a strong stench and seconds later ,white smoke emitted from the CPU .i switched off the power but was too late .my primary HDD was burned with smoke coming out..good thing my secondary HDD was unscatched.
i went to several PC repair shops in hopes of recovering the burnt HDD and each of the techs who entertained me was surprised .

Said they never encountered this before. heh, bad experience for me.

Hmmm, I never on my laptop for more than 4days. Whats the temp of your laptop? Any side-effect during restart.. Whats the temp of the RAM?
