QUOTE(piscesguy @ Nov 26 2010, 08:42 AM) 1080p TVs or upconverting DVD players will create too much scaling and noise in the image. Scaling is bad regardless how good the scaler is. You want to always display the video at its native resolution. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but this is an interesting comment... definitely a purist perspective.Same like playing CDs - some say AVR/amp should be on neutral,, never extra bass or treble - music is to be played the way it was encoded... |

the argument of DVDs quality playback on HDTV is the same old argument as
watching VCD is as good as DVD... hmm... now all say VCD sucks... kekeke also the concept is also the same as playing a computer game at 320x240 reso on a HDTV is so pixelated... so if you wanna enjoy 1080p movies you can look at alternative Media player that support HD which the cheapest is like RM250... and can go up to RM5K |

sometime you dont set the settings on the LED tv as shown on display sets... Display sets usually set it to very high contrast and vivid to the MAX... what I did is to tone down the settings in the settings menu like set to standard colour, reduce the backlight, reduce the colour from 80 down to 50 and contrast reduce by 20... the LED tv may have the best contrast but you do not need to set it to MAX... just like a FERRARI you do not need to drive it at 300++ KM/H everytime... relax....
