Hi, i currently suffer from moon face problem and according to my doctor, i got few keloid scars on my face. And i knew most of you will said that there is already a lot of this kind of thread been posted before. I did read through them...

However, those were old thread and some of the doctor was from good to bad... something like that. That's why i wanna get the latest 2010 of good skin specialist for laser treatment on my problem.

I heard
Dr.Christina in USJ

Dr Rajit in SS15

Dr Edwin Chang in Sunway

Dr Ko in Klang

From the above list, i heard them from the previous thread that they are good dermatologist or skin specialist , however , i heard most of them were money minded and give customer bad services ...

So may i know which dermatologist or skin specialist around KL or Subang/Sunway/USJ area that are not really money minded and provide excellent service and ofcourse effective treatment for the acne scars. Not money minded mean their service charge was reasonable and not over price. I also like to listen to your recommendation on other areas and also out from the list where i state. Thank you.

I would recommend Dr. Ko from Klang. Used to be their patients there and they are quite nice and friendly to the customers. When I was a student, Dr. Ko personally reduced the medical fee for me. No doubt some of their products can be slightly expensive but they are worth it.

A few hundred. I would say cheaper by RM100 - RM200. Dr. Ko personally told the nurse to reduce the price for me but did not state the figure. The nurse will then reduce about RM100 - RM200. That was years ago.

why the doctor didn't give me offer since i am a student?
r u any datuk's son?

i just went for dr.ko 4 days ago(tues)...

i was consulted by a beautician (grace teh) at 1st...
then i was bring to dr.ko for awhile...he just explain few things to me abt the medicine and sign to approve the medicine gave by beautician...
then i was brin to laser treatment by a guy (4get to ask his name but i guess he is not a doctor)

total bill is Rm520
RM240 for a month medicine(isotretinon and antibacterial)
RM80 for acne lotion...
RM200 for laser treatment (RM10 per shot)

this is what i have been through...

comment:
my skin condition is not that bad...just oily skin and some acne scar left over...
they give me isotretinon to control the oil...i think this is a must for every patient because this 'drugs' can cure most of the skin problem...
for antibacterial medicine,i dun think its neccessary for me because i seldom have acne now...even i have i also can use the acne lotion from them...
about the laser treatment,it is RM10 per shot...due to not much cash i holding,i tell them to set the treatment at Rm200...

the result will be given after 1 month....
i din see any obvious results now except skin start drying...

I'm not a datuk son and etc. Just humbly tell them that I'm still a student and can you reduce the price for me. Remember to only tell this to Dr. Ko since he has the authority to reduce prices. If you did not open your mouth, they will charge you accordingly.

I've been to their laser treatment once. No immediate result. The result can only be seen after several weeks. I would say about 2-3 weeks. Since you have oily skin, did Dr. Ko prescribe any pinkish medicine to be eaten? Use to control your oily skin.

From what i heard, Dr Ko's staff very money minded and look down on other people. Instead of Dr Ko or other doctor , the nurse will do the treatment for you. And i also heard their staff attitude was very bad... and often also over expensive than other clinic.

I'm not too sure whether they are money minded or not. But what I'm pretty sure of is that their medicine and service will cost you alot. I don't mind paying as they produce result. And when your case is not serious, the nurses will be the one doing the treatment. And it is very diffcult to get discount from them.

I know there's another skin specialist near the Klang river. Above the 7-11 store next to Lian Hup. Their price offered are resonable but never like their product. Never produced result and the doctor kept on trying other medicine on me and risking my skin. It became worse after seeing him. After that, went to Dr. Ko and I start seeing result.

My family (immediate & extended) has been a strong supporter of Dr. Ranjit for many years and he managed to cure their acne problem.

Unfortunately for me his medicines don't seem to work on my acne whether antibiotics or cream.

Do give Dr. Ranjit a try if the others don't work. But his treatment is usually quite expensive (be prepared around RM150 - RM400). And you need to make appointment to see him as his clinic is crowded and full all week.

oh,haha...coz i heard they treat datuk/datin/artist differently...
haih,4get to do that...maybe i will try to do that in nxt my nxt visit...

btw,what laser treatment u do?RM10 per shot?
is the result obvious after several weeks?
because there is one week from the day i do laser...so far not much effect and some of the scar are bleeding and darken...i am worried the laser make my scar worst...
does it really nid so long to see the result?

yeap, that pinkish medicine is RM180 per month...i think it is isotretinon/accutane or so call vitamin A...
but my skin still oily and lips not that dry even i already take the medicine for 1 week...maybe nid longer time to see the effect...

dr.ko only see me for 5 min...

the technician did ask me again whether i got bring enough money anot when i make payment...
i dunno what is that mean for u...some might feel that he is just asking...some may tot he is looking down at u...

The result will be obvious after several weeks. The scar won't go away immediately. It'll slowly fade away. Bleeding and darken is a serious issue. I have never experience such thing before. Perhaps you should seek some advice from them. If I'm not mistaken, doctor consultation is FOC. Once went inside to ask some advice, and once done, just walk out.

The pink pill will make your face and lips dry. 1 week should be sufficient to see the result as your face will slowly get dry. May I ask, how often do you take this pill? When I first took mine, it was about 1 in every 2-3days. My skin became really dry and I have to apply moisturizer on my face to keep them wet.

I went for Ranjit in SS15 for the past 1 year... the pink pills given is Isotretinoin also known as Roaccutane... it cost me RM200 per box from Ranjit... including his self made anti bacteria cream... for my case he ask me to take one pill everyday for the 1st box... 2nd box alternate days then 3rd twice a week.. then 4th once a week and so on for 6 boxes... and he said the cream has to be applied for your entire lifetime... hence u'll become a loyal customer... rclxms.gif

recommended to a friend as well... his condition got better... so was mine... but after i stopped the pills and just applying the cream only, the acne starting to come back... when on the pill max 1 pimple per week only... now everyday 1... guess everyone case is different...

btw he doesnt treat ur scar until u acne problem goes off... so dont expect instant makeover or something...

Same here. I once totally stopped taking those pills and my acne come in one shot. I spoke to the nurse and she told me that there's a method to stop taking those pills and your acne will not come back. First of all, reduce your body dependency on pills to control your acne output. Start by taking twice a week for about a month or so. After that, only take once a week for the next coming month. Once you don't see any acne popping out, reduce your intake to about once in every two week and so forth. The trick here is to tell your body to reduce its dependency on these pills and you should be doing fine after that. These pills don't come cheap. I think it cost about RM5 for one pill.
