There's no nVidia card on A42Ja, its using ATi....
Assuming you meant A42Jc/Jv, it will show Intel... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jan 15 2011, 06:52 PM |

Because its utilizing nVidia Optimus, which is Dynamic GPU switching, the one connected to the screen is Intel while the one doing the calculation is nVidia, so Intel will always be shown...
As for system that using ONLY nVidia card without Optimus, it will show nVidia card... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jan 16 2011, 12:57 AM |

The old i7 Quad will show the nVidia card in dxdiag since it doesn't have the integrated GPU for Optimus,
but if you want to change the i3/i5 inside Optimus notebook, most likely you won't get output on your screen since the nVidia card is not connected... Good as in ? This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jan 16 2011, 01:05 AM |

The new (SandyBridge) i7 Quad support Optimus, since it has integrated GPU in it now...
A43SV is using the new i7 Quad, it can support Optimus if Asus want to enable it... As for WEI, desktop will be based on Intel HD, gaming will be based on nVidia... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jan 16 2011, 01:11 AM |

No also, its just that the Windows calculate the score based on different GPU...
ATi = both score based on ATi nVidia Optimus = desktop score based on Intel HD, gaming score based on nVidia |

The ATi would get lower battery life though, assuming other spec is the same....
