Hi guys, need some help.
I bought my Asus A42JC A couple of weeks ago. It was fine for the first few weeks. Suddenly, I get hangs and blank black screens many times. Annoys me a lot especially during start ups. I know that perhaps this has been discussed many times but could you guys tell me what to do to prevent this from occuring?

Download latest BIOS if you don't done so already. Link here

Put the file in USB drive (its better if the drive is empty so its easier to select the BIOS files) and open up BIOS (press F2 during startup) and click Start Easy Flash. Make sure the battery is inserted so if there is power failure it won't disrupt the flashing process

if i installed the latest BIOS firmware, will it like reformat my whole system? As in will my files disappear? IF yes, I'd better make a backup of my files =x

If I am not mistaken, i did updated to the latest driver few weeks ago... My laptop had that problem since I bought it, but it wasn't anything serious and it doesn't happen when I use speakers/headphones..

I only use chrome... sometimes IE if chrome doesn't support some chinese websites..

Added on February 6, 2011, 6:23 amOk I disabled Chrome's built-in flash and installed back the latest realtek driver... I am pretty sure it's driver fault.. somehow if I tweak the equalizer to e.g. ROCK and turn volume to loudest it happens very easily...

Added on February 6, 2011, 7:58 amSo any alternative drivers for me to try?
