coaxials like the LAMAs no matter big or small do not like WIND
the bigger ones like the LARGE ESKY LAMA can take more WIND la ... when u can see newspaper blowing around on the floor i think that is when u do not fly your BIG LAMA to be safe it is not worth it to repair your heli ... it probably runs on BRUSHED MOTORS and will soon wear out again .. same goes for the other part why ?? coz it is made for the purpose of being a TOY/NOVELTY ... not a hobby grade aircraft ... hobby grade stuff goes up much higher in QC |

for that price the only option to u is the ESKY BELT CP ..
that will be super steep learning curve as u will crash and repair 100 times more than u fly something smaller that can handle minor wind and in your price range and skill level ... go google walkera 4#6S and read up on it |

nope ... not fast at all
my 1st esky lama lasted me 2 weeks b4 being blown by the wind up somebody's roof then i bought a 4g3 .. 2 weeks after that i bought the trex 450pro i hovered the 450pro in 2 weeks single rotor helis are never stable ... your SIM is telling u the right thing |

QUOTE(Chongster @ Sep 26 2011, 10:33 AM) Morning people. I was practicing on the FMS simulator over the weekend and realized that this is a mode 1 radio controller. The toy RC heli that I have are all on mode 2 operation. Just want to check if it's good to train using mode 1 or it makes more sense to switch it back to mode 2? The suggested walkera 4#6S's controller is mode 1 or 2? whichever mode u use is a self preference ... just go with whatever u are comfortable withJust wondering which mode is the mode to go.... I am a right hand writer. Does it make a different? the wakera radios can be configure to either mode .. same goes for futaba radios AFAIK spektrum cannot change mode ... JR i not sure i am flying mode 2 ... check out which mode does what 1st ... google rc radio modes then u can have a look .. test out the modes in your SIM .. go with whatever feels natural to u Added on September 26, 2011, 12:59 pm QUOTE(NightShadow @ Sep 26 2011, 12:06 PM) hi all. ever since my fake lama v3 got broken i gave up rc helicoptering for a while. 4#6S is the fixed pitch variant of the 4G6S .. it is less than 12inches in length (fuselage) and excellent for indoorswas wondering if there are any good reliable stable and affordable choppers for sale that can be flown indoors. i see the walkera 4#6S seems popular. is that a cool chopper to start with? and it is very stable for the size ... but do not expect to go from LAMA to that easily ... spend a bit of time with a SIM 1st after u can hover properly in the SIM then u should be able to handle the 4#6S hovering no problems that will stop quite a lot of bleeding from your wallet This post has been edited by QiW: Sep 26 2011, 12:59 PM |

walkera is not a popular brand here ... plus the parts are not cheap compared to align and some other more popular brands
but u can import the parts yourself .. just keep some parts that are easily damaged in a crash .. small helis have very small impact so most of the time u would not be surprised to find no damage or no major damage |

Small helis flip so fast that its hard to see.
I tried to invert my 4g6 and it went over so fast that it was hard to see. They oso suffer power to weight ratio prob. Small batts always suffer with power & big batts with AUW. So flight time vs power thing. If lessen the solo weight sure can flip better but fly lesser minutes la. Hehehe |

elevator and aileron mix in swash mix will not bog down your motor .. only the pitch one will
so increase the elevator and ailerons mix for faster response and movements ... that is what is required nothing to do with pitch ... unless u want your heli to go vertical super fast la then u will require higher power setup |

QUOTE(daddoo @ Oct 4 2011, 05:43 PM) It will actually. I did a test before. aiyoo ... so little throttle ? can the heli fly at such throttle ?Tried to spin up the heli with a little bit of throttle and hold it with hand, should be less than a quarter of the throttle stick. Now if I pull elev/ail I can notice the RPM drop. Of course at very very high RPM we may not realize lah if the cyclic is negligible. So I agree with you, the more cyclic u put the more power u need. Just that to what extend you define motor bogging only loh if cannot fly then bog until die oso nvm la only when flying ... the force based on pitch is so much on the motor that cyclics becomes (like u said) negligible already to bogging effect .. hahaha Added on October 5, 2011, 5:53 amcpmboy ... try to get someone to look at your blades for tracking (at your current skill level later u confident already then can do yourself already) doing it yourself maybe end in bad result .. hehehe however the align CF blades i found no tracking and balancing needed .. may not be the same case la of coz This post has been edited by QiW: Oct 5 2011, 05:53 AM |

yup .. i did that ... as per finless
gives a little more anti torque travel for the tail blades the other logic is .. your tail is almost always countering torque of the main blades .. so pulling the push rod is better than pushing it coz pushing will cause FLEX .. and the small little thin pushrod can bend quite easily if the guides are not in strategic positions mine has been modded to use CF rod instead of the small little thin push rod .. |

ball link distance was as recommended by finless too .. hehehe
arm position was subtrimmed to center as much as possible while linkage was adjusted to give a little anti torque on the tail blades the tail blade ideal pitch (in theory) for hovering is about 8* anti torque .. so try to get that as close as possible while center 90* on your servo arm |
