Just got myself a iPhone4 from DIGI yesterday. And the lady said to wait for 24 hours before I can proceed with all the downloading apps. Been reading around the forum, but can't seem to get the answer I wanted.

How do I know that my DIGI data service is ready? And what's the necessary steps for me to do before I start downloading my apps. Like those procedure to prepare for my DIGI data service.

Would appreciate if you guys can copy and paste it here. Cheers, have a good iPhone day folks biggrin.gif

If there any necessary procedure to activate? Cause whenever I enter AppStore, the WiFi list popped out.

Btw, how do I set the push notification to manual? I heard by setting it to manual helps save the battery. What's the difference between setting to auto and manual anyway? 2nd question/

best is to confirm with Digi Customer Service. give them a call and ask whether your line already activate and ready to use, e.g. downloading apps and etc.

if not, when you downloading it, it will charge based on usage...

But what do I need to do before I can start downloading apps? Now whenever I enter the AppStore, they ask me which WiFi connection I want.

you can browse around the forum. many ppl already answer it.

perhap you can look at the section guide - new to iphone4 => Section I: IOS 4 & iPhone 4

when it prompt you for wifi connection, probably your line haven't activate yet. so best not to use the phone to download apps, unless you want to connect to wifi and download it.

please call customer service to confirm. you have to ask them... not us.

which are you are not sure?

data activation or the email push notification?

email push notification => u can set it in the setting => mail => fetch new data => set the push off and manually. it will only retrieve the mail when you checking the email. otherwise it wont fetch the new email.

if you put it auto, it will keep on connecting to fetch the new email. will drain your battery.

anyway, for the battery usage part, u can read the link => Battery Drain posted by members.

I managed to found out through some old post that I need to enable my cellular service & enable 3G. That's for my data service.

Push notification only works for mails? I seldom check my mails. So set to manual, I assume.

push notification also meant for other thing, such as apps. if not important, you can disable it to save battery.

Meaning if I use WhatApp for example. If I put in on standby mode while waiting for reply, there won't be any notification? I still can't get the exact usefulness of push notification.

Digi has the white iPhone 4 which is really tempting, but stocks are limited. ><
