As the more I think and the more I cross check with the service manual I really worry the change of the MoBo for the N8 are really easily been mess up by those un-train or un-skillful NCC technicians...  shakehead.gif

It's odd that in Europe and USA, there's a 14 days return policy while here it's not existent. I think we need to pressure our Government more on consumer rights to make it a legislative right then all the businesses will follow. It's totally crap to pay money for a non working product and end of the day, we are being given the run around.

You are lucky as you had 'connections' but what about the other poor unsuspecting users out there? Really, if Nokia does not buck up, I will be tempted to move away to another brand when I go shopping for a phone for my wife.

Hmmm... maybe I'll pass her the N8 and I go buy the iPon. blush.gif

Battery meter really xiao xiao wan. When I plug in to charge, it says 30 minutes to full charge. Left it alone for a while and the screen lock activated. Unlock and it says need 50 minutes to charge. hmm.gif

Better to wait a while first. A few percentage of the 1st batch have problems and the NCC is not doing a good job too.

If your nick starts with secret then it is 2nd batch otherwise if your nick starts with Aspire then R&D. Otherwise all other units are 1st batch. rclxub.gif

Very diplomatically written letter that promises and commits to nothing. Looks like Nokia is getting better and better at this game. Why not a recall to fix potential problems? Why do we need to wait until the phone dies on us before action is taken?

Mind you, the complaints are not only on dead phones. There are other issues like banding issues on the screen display, reboots/restarts that happens out of nowhere and most importantly the notorious tidak apa attitude of the NCC staffs.

We are not saying anything like that. It's just that every smartphone that I have bought from Nokia faces the same problem over and over again. The bad attitude of the service staffs at some centres does not makes it any better. I would expect users of other brands who face the same problem to stand up for themselves.

In the meantime, I will be off to visit the iFag forum for a while. Seriously considering ditching my current N8 for an iPhone. Just read of the web that iOS 4.2 will be released next week.

Just came from browsing the iFag forum. It seems that Apple Service centre actually open new boxes of phones to replace for customers even for those with yellowish screen display. No need dead phone or throw bricks at the service centre. shocking.gif
