LMDE is based on Debian Testing, the first day installed it has about 100+ updates, since than no more and it has been about 4 days without updates. Not me asking this as in Mint forum they raised the same questions  hmm.gif
*
thats because currently debian testing is in freeze state, preparing to become next stable release.. if u use unstable repo like me, still got updates everyday.. but if u choose to stick with testing repo, the day of next debian stable is release u will get a bucketload updates from upstream debian testing

no, i dont advise anyone to do that.. i'm just explaining about why lmde with default repo rarely got updates nowadays. and yes its more safe to use its default testing repo compared to me that use unstable repo, always got risk to break my system tongue.gif tongue.gif

in gnome if u want to delayed conky startup, paste this into gedit
CODE
#!/bin/bash
sleep 30 && conky;

adjust "sleep 30" depends on how many seconds u want it to be delayed. save it to any filename with .sh extension and make it executable (and maybe u wannna name it with dot at beginning so it will hide in nautilus eg .conky-startup.sh)
then copy that startup script into ur home folder and add it into ur startup service, also make sure u had delete original conky startup command from startup service. reboot and see how it goes

my freshly install opensuse 12.1
i start from gnome livecd but didnt like gnome 3 abit. now its fully kde after completely remove all trace of gnome tongue.gif
btw opensuse 12.1 is the one and only distro that can detect my ati 6470m gc and use opensource gallium driver+hardware rendering out of the box thumbup.gif with lmde, ubuntu, aptosid, fedora i struggle alot with that particular gc even with ati proprietary driver. cannot enable hardware rendering, heat problem etc etc.... ati gc is truly a biiiiiiitch to deal with on linux mad.gif
