Normally, price may spike a little after capital reduction exercise.
Some even under intense goreng, as now you have less share in the market or many may ended up too little share, odd shares that cannot trade directly.
So easy target for goreng.

But most slowly drift downwards after day by day, and back to near penny.  tongue.gif

I seldom see company that underwent capital reduction exercise become flourish afterwards.
Yes, may be there are exception but not many.
Because if the company is good, it should not be experiencing capital reduction exercise in the first place.

may i ask what is the benefit of this capital reduction exercise to their books ? thanks .

Actually, it has a lot to do with overseas market as well.

We have lot of uncertainty with SSEC plunging 4%.
For speculators, the worst they want to see is their speculative/contra stocks hold in hand, while other overseas plunge non-stop, while you cannot do anything about it due to market holiday.

For speculative play, every day count, everyday different.
*
Yes. I don't think the stock market is so predictable that if tomorrow holiday then price will drop. If like that, I will be laughing my way to the bank. laugh.gif

Reminds me of the irish joke of a scientist who mix whisky with water on the first day & got drunk. The next day, he mix vodka with water and still got drunk. The third day, he mix gin with water and got drink. He thereby concluded that water is the intoxicating agent laugh.gif

Thus the same with stock market. If you try to pin a single factor to its rise & ebb, you just like a drunk irish scientist. tongue.gif (Note - I hope there are no irishmen in this forum otherwise my sincerest apologies notworthy.gif )

Not much also....I plan to take money from 12 months ahead to invest. Anyway, the day after tomorrow is payday rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif . And then next month will get 2 months salary and hopefully got 10Q bonus this year. So, if KLCI down, bring it on. I will not buy any gadgets as of now, heavy on investment, let others pay for my new phone and XBOX and Kinect brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

Previous accumulated loss being writen off. So book become "cleaner" tongue.gif

Normally capital reduction is accompanied right issue, new share issue. As new share buyers, what you don't want is buying into share of company that with huge accumulated loss. You want to buy a "clean" company and with larger stake as well, so existing shareholders generally shareholding will be diluted as well.

In actual fact, there are more gamblers in KLCI than investors. Most think it is cheap at 0.3x because it used to be at XX
