Schalke coach Felix Magath claims that the club may struggle to hang on to goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and others, as they struggle both on and off the pitch.
Neuer, a German international, will see his Schalke contract expire in 2012 and, as the Bundesliga side are suffering financial difficulties off the pitch, may be sold in order to bring in more revenue.
The goalkeeper has been lined up as a potential replacement for 40-year-old Edwin Van der Sar at Manchester United, while Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring his situation.
Schalke's awful start to this season has seen them take just nine points from their 11 games, and Magath admits it may be tough to persuade some of the club's stars to stay.
Speaking to German daily Bild, Magath said: "Of course I do not trust entirely that I will be able to keep Manuel Neuer and all the other players.
"Although the situation is somewhat more difficult with less revenue, we have created the conditions to become champions in years to come."
Not that I don't like him, but haven't watch him long enough to know what he can do. Same with all others goalie, like de gea etc. Let SAF and Eric Steele to sort it out
