QUOTE(guppy @ Nov 12 2010, 06:20 PM) Holy battery sucking powers, Batman. with 3G on that's a reasonable battery life, how long you think the battery can last? a week?Ok guys, I finally took the time to unshackle myself from Eclair (JM8 with optimized JM8+Voodoo kernel) and flashed Doc Froyo 7.5 JPO ROM, JPP modem and YA-OK kernel. I decided to flash the *supposedly* better and more power efficient JPD modem because I had some weird problems with my calls and Wifi on JPP (Wifi would turn on but sometimes refuse to connect, calls would mysteriously go on Hold mid conversation). But now JPD seems to be a real power sucker. 8am - 6pm with minimal usage and battery is down to a piddly 51% remaining (3G, background sync, Facebook/Twitter every 3 hours, everything else off) Anyone with a similar setup? How's your battery life?.. damn I hate this phone. try 2G, it will be much better |

QUOTE(janov @ Nov 15 2010, 11:36 PM) downloading JPA from samfirmware, is the firmware size really 169Mb?? Wow, and it seems i need to flash to JM8 first before going to JPA, correct? well once i get all the files i will take the next big step and FLASH!! i really dont like depending on Kies for firmware update anymore la, feel like no freedom wan. anyway after i flash to JPA from samfirmware can i then apply Custom ROM? Please advise, fellow SIFUS!! I think for stock firmware try JPD as ppl are reporting it as smoother and better battery life.JPD is hong kong firmware |

JM8 very safe and easy to flash one.
just select the PDA and Modem, No CSC for JM8. No need to tick or check anything, just flash it |
