Back to eclair with recovery 2e... but it keeps return to recovery screen after I applied update.zip(Clockworkmod)
*
Have to apply twice.

like this

Off phone, boot into recovery2e

Apply update.zip

then phone will reboot

choose apply update.zip again

then it will become CWM

Holy battery sucking powers, Batman.

Ok guys, I finally took the time to unshackle myself from Eclair (JM8 with optimized JM8+Voodoo kernel) and flashed Doc Froyo 7.5 JPO ROM, JPP modem and YA-OK kernel.

I decided to flash the *supposedly* better and more power efficient JPD modem because I had some weird problems with my calls and Wifi on JPP (Wifi would turn on but sometimes refuse to connect, calls would mysteriously go on Hold mid conversation). But now JPD seems to be a real power sucker. 8am - 6pm with minimal usage and battery is down to a piddly 51% remaining (3G, background sync, Facebook/Twitter every 3 hours, everything else off)

Anyone with a similar setup? How's your battery life?.. damn I hate this phone. sad.gif
*
with 3G on that's a reasonable battery life, how long you think the battery can last? a week?

try 2G, it will be much better

guys,

I have a silly question here. How can I manually lock the screen on this phone instead of waiting for 15 sec to let it auto-lock?
*
Press power button on the right side.

downloading JPA from samfirmware, is the firmware size really 169Mb?? Wow, and it seems i need to flash to JM8 first before going to JPA, correct? well once i get all the files i will take the next big step and FLASH!! i really dont like depending on Kies for firmware update anymore la, feel like no freedom wan. anyway after i flash to JPA from samfirmware can i then apply Custom ROM? Please advise, fellow SIFUS!!
*
I think for stock firmware try JPD as ppl are reporting it as smoother and better battery life.

JPD is hong kong firmware

ok doing what u asked but this time i untick instead of ticking, at recovery mode after flashing i select reboot right? or wipe dat/factory reset? or wipe cache partition? or format sdcard?
*
Is strange, please state what's the steps you took. What files you use. To wipe just factory reset and cache, no need format SD card

yup im flashing JPD, pit file is .803, follow exactly every step, even the flashing in ODIN says PASS then when reboot got problem it just shows the S logo then blank screen and it will be vibrating every few secs
*
Did you flash to JM8 first? Then select 803pit for JPD and no repartition?

You choose PDA only? Modem and CSC didn't select any?
