Arm8 is better than arm11 and thats a fact. What most important is software implementation and software optimization. If bad, it will be like what happen to samsung galaxy s, high spec, but lag.

Yeap. Just a comparison for PC processor.
An i7 Quad-Core performs better than a Intel Core 2 Quad processor.

We want to speak of unbiased comparison. I personally believe it would have been better if Nokia actually put a Cortex into their Symbian^3 devices but what's done has been done. There's no turning back. All they can do now is to optimised the software as much as possible. So sit tight and wait for the FW Update

Nokia is harnessing the cpu capability to the fullest to save the device cost. So eventhough N8 seems underpowered but with the right GPU it still can play an HD video. Given that today's marketing strategy & fast moving mobile market, its logical that ARM11 is the choice because the concept "build to last" is fading from the manufacturing pov.

i also wondering because from experience most of the time the laptop will boot up faster and the performance also better when compare with similiar spec desktop....

I know. That's why I said that Symbian^3 has been written to be a lot faster than Symbian^1. Is that deniable?
If no, I said, If SE Vivaz is running on Symbian^3 alongside with Nokia N8, theoretically speaking, it should be faster due to hardware differences.

Added on November 12, 2010, 11:33 amThe second part coming into topic is what have you installed into your computer. My computer filled with tonnes of softwares actually starts up slower than my mum's (lower processor clock speed) Vista comp.

Just if SE install those UI patches on top of the system, they will slow down the device too.

check:

1. battery got depleted?? (try to plug in the charger and see can charge or not by looking at the tiny white LED) wait for 15 mins then try reboot
2. If still can't boot up... send to NCC... & welcome to the zombies N8 group...

... Thought full version so I go install it.

after sent to NCC dont forget to send an email to nokiamalaysia1@ovi.com. Mention which Nokia Care Center you sent it to as well as your case number if you have one.
