I hv complained / report to Astro PVR Customer Support a few times... on the Linked Series...

Here is the flaws for the Linked Series... Astro PVR Customer Support told me the Linked Series is still in trial mode...

If you record 3 channels with linked series, it will record the first time that series is shows... so most of them falls into prime time ( 8 - 10pm )..

On the next booked time slot, all the three channels will be recorded on prime time, 8pm to 9pm, 8:30pm to 9:30pm and since we can only record 2 out of three channels if we are not watching it...

As I do sometimes watch live news, it will stop or interrupt one of the recording channels or record them half-way ....

*** The intelligent "feature" of the Linked Series was suppose to automatically record the repeat time slot if the main time slot was missed/not recorded..

Somehow the above feature always does not work at all..

Pls e-mail to wecare@astro.com.my and someone from PVR Tech Support division will call you back and listen to your complain but they always call during office hours when I am not at home!!!!!

Yes, and make BBC widescreen for goodness sake! Its annoying watching on a widescreen TV and still losing parts of text on the edge of the screen They have it in widescreen in Singapore!

Can byond support 2 decoder?

Hopefully this Tsunami disaster has open astro's eyes that the news channels we have is just not good enough..there 2 2 business news channels plus the Australian channel bundled into news channels..the real news channels we have is CNN, BBC, and Al Jazeera..Sky News would be great..

I know TM Unifi has ChannelNews Asia but I think astro (as a good partner with the gov) wont allow them to be on Astro..simple reason is Channel News Asia brings news about Malaysia that might hurt the government..Here we get crap TV1,TV2,TV3 news that are all pro gov and the opposition are all bad guys.. all things are rosy on the government side..but try watching Channel News Asia and they will give us the 'other side of the story'..Malaysian government are scared the people living in KL, and the northern states will hear news that would not be heard on the local news channels..

BTW, is the NHK channel on ch398 the same NHK channel that CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera got their news feed from? Or is that a different NHK? I dont have ch398 in my subscription..

Good Points. ! About CNA they were the first to report that Penang has fallen to opposition as early as 9pm last GE ! Astro brings NHK Premium a japanese content channel but what we look forward now is NHK World which broadcasts in English.

yes, quad output LNB can support 4 normal byond boxes, or 2x byond PVR

Until astro increase our monthly subscription fee

About Astro HD over IPTV, they approach my condo for a free 3 months trial for both Maxis HSBB & Astro HD over IPTV ...

After weeks of drilling for the fiber installation on the condo riser... they finally called me to install the fiber to my condo unit..

Last minute they told me the Astro HD over IPTV could not be trial due to some known reasons... so only Maxis HSBB trial..

If Maxis ( and now TIME ) team up with Astro, then they can offer HSBB & Astro HD to most of the condo units as most condo
multi tenant unit, cannot hv Astro HD due to the shared MATV infra..

..simple question to ask

anyone here connecting byond with 2 tv ? hdmi port to 1st tv & component/composit to 2nd tv.
in my case (dunno its relevant or not..huhu),2nd tv (2 tv actually 'kaput' already).first is lcd,tonight
crt tv.apply byond first day promotion.

refer to technician..he say,connecting like that not good.can broken tv.1 decoder..1 tv.

right now planning get new tv but scared if happen again.need apply 2nd decoder ? i heard hdmi switch
can offer settled down sharing 1 decoder with 2 tv..really ?

HI there, my house now currently only suscribe astro dynasty package(WLT,CCTV4, tvb8 and etc), can i suscribe astro beyond add Rm20/month for astro zhi zhun HD? means without espn HD, HBO HD because i only have dynasty package thanks

when they install the new dish, does it using back the same cable or need to pull new cable to support new dish?
