A SPOKESMAN for Astro says the switch is needed as Astro Max will no longer be supported on the new Astro B.yond platform which offers high definition transmission on the new and existing channels provided through this service.

"To ensure our customers continue enjoying uninterrupted services from Astro, we encourage customers with Astro Max to upgrade to Astro B.yond PVR which has even better consumer benefits."

Astro regrets any inconvenience caused to the customer.

When contacted, AMY says she is satisfied with the full explanation received from Astro.

More importantly, she is happy the pay-TV service provider is letting her keep the Astro Max device

I wonder why people want to keep Astro Max, watching suddenly System Verification come on and you have to wait 2 to 3 minutes to continue watching your show. I have already change both my Astro Max to B.yond PVR, and very glad 24 months recording fee waived, and lifetime warranty.

is tonight asian games opening ceremony broadcast in HD or SD ?

Surely in HD...HD in SD picture...hahaha.....astro didn't open any HD slots for HD channel...oni in SD bro...7.45pm!

Atleast upscaled it and put in Super Sport HD.

Disappointing really . knowing mainland chinese , tonight's opening ceremony should be spectacular . i am sure to miss HD in it's full glory

but every time it recorded the 701 channel... how come???

If we get astro bills us 1 year in advance, ie., 1 year billing cycle before 1st Jan 2011, can we escape the 6% service tax until end of next year?

I have no problem recording ch 721.

If record individual no problem on 721, only series link on 721 which I set gave me 701... pening.
Really need to enquire cs, but astro cs not really pro...

series link recording is a known problem, it's not really work at the moment (in fact, it's not officially available )

newspaper reported asian games will be shown on 801 and 821.

Is 821 available for non sports customers too ?

I have the same problem as you.

The series link are NOT working properly so I have to click on 721 every week.

Astro sucks but most of us know already.

Because a) recording is free. b) you only need to run one satellite cable to it. c) you can set manual recordings. d) the astro beyond boxes are unreliable. I've had 4 and they all have had the same inherant fault. I've given up exchanging them.

System verification? That only comes up when I turn on my STB. Not in the middle of a programme...

So far I only know series link works for AOD 901, AOD 921 also not working.
