Morning guys. The WDTV Live is hooked up to my AVR via HDMI. Wired to my router and home network and accessing my QNAP NAS without any problems. Playback has been fine on random testing.

However, 2 quick questions:

(1) there is no album artwork support for FLAC?

(2) in the Audio/Video setting, I selected "Digital" for audio output. generally, no problems. however, on certain *.MP4 videos encoded with 2-channel AAC, the video plays fine but there is no audio. when i revert back to "Stereo" on the audio settings, only then i get both video AND audio. is this normal?

appreciate your advise. thanks in advance.

I think I will play around with the official firmware a bit more before graduating to the b-rad wdtvl firmware.

Like no audio when playing movies or the movies can't be played at all?
That might be because of mkv with header compression
Yeah that's already fixed with latest firmware update.

Hi, I recently got a live hub. haven't done extensive comparison to the live, but it does play mkv's. but i'm not sure its the player's problems or that the mkv needs a remux to solve the problem. most of the mkv's i have played on my live play on the live hub too.

but setting up shares with win 7 is a bit of a problem for me. I have not encountered any problems setting up shares with xp.

So far I only encounter one mkv file that was problematic. Not that mkvmerge GUI can't solve.

Quite right, sharing on win7 need to go thru more hoops & jump!

(2) Yes. Coz most likely ur AVR cannot decode AAC. But i think on my WDTV it still can play...but the sound is very soft....i don't have many AAC movies anyway...either DTS or DD51.
