talking about sigma lenses, has anyone tried the Sigma 50mm f/1.4? Im considering getting the Canon 50mmf/1.4 but I would like to know (from someones personal experience) how it stacks up against the much more expensive Sigma

I love the 50mm too, used have the f/1.8 but sold it to finance a body upgrade. I think I'll go for the f1.4 next... maybe one day if money starts growing on trees, I'll manage to get a 1.2L

If camera lenses buy from overseas, got international warranty?
If not, will it means it becomes grey set in Malaysia?
If anything happens, no warranty coverage?
*
I think you really have to ask the guy your buying from if its an international warranty or not

About the Di622, I havent really had the inconsistent light issue... well, I can't really compare its performance to one of the more expensive flashes but I think it does fine to fulfil my needs. My only issue is once in a while it doesnt fire in slave mode

any tips to prevent my dslr from snatch?
i feel unsecure with canon strap.
*
I always wrap the strap around my hand and wrist several times and hold the body firmly when I walk around with it, I never just leave it dangling

its possible to clean yourself, I think a basic cleaning kit is around rm30 or so. you can google search or look on youtube for how to do it. Im not sure how much they charge to do it in a shop though

I'd say go for the 550D + L lens. 550D is a capable camera and im sure is great with an L lens. You'll know if or when you want to upgrade the body when you have more experience and understand more about DSLR. As far as I know, it doesnt really matter if you have a 1D mrkIV or a 1000D if you pair it with a useless lens. Watch this video on youtube, they discuss this dilemma http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk5IMmEDWH4

I beg to differ. Body plays a major role too in determining the IQ eventhough you are pairing with 'useless' lens. I wouldn't call one as useless, budget lens would be a nicer word. Even if you pair a budget lens with a superb body, you'll still see significant difference in the output. smile.gif
*
Well, I guess your right but I still think one can get better IQ/sharpness from the 550D + L lens combo rather than the 5D + 'budget lens' combo. plus I think the 550D would be less overwhelming to a new comer to DSLR, not too sure cause I've never used a 5D mrkII before to compare.

@ComradeZ, 24-70mm f2.8L is my dream lens but I think il get the 24-105mm and some primes first, maybe upgrade to the 24-70mm later

are u sure?

as i know, it can be triggered wirelessly.. but hv to use manual mode
*
it can trigger "wirelessly". In slave mode it has a wireless type feature, its not like proper wireless triggers, it detects you on-camera flash then fires at the same time (not 100% successful though)

Rm1000~RM1500

Please advice! Lens to capture far object !
*
I would suggest you get an average zoom lens something like 17-70mm or an 85mm prime lens and just get closer to what ever it is your trying to take pics of. otherwise try save up some more cash and get a Canon 70-200mm f4L (im sure sigma or tamron offer something in the same range, maybe for a bit cheaper)

I see 550D body quite small, Can it hold big lens? ..
*
what type of big lenses do you mean? Like a 70-200mm f2.8L IS ? I've people with 550D's using 24-105mmf4L and 24-70mmf2.8L they said they work fine but the cameras seemed rather front heavy for my liking

Even if add BG?

Edit: personally.. I think 24-70L balances ok
*
both didnt have BG, I think it would have been better with a BG on. I think the 24-105mm felt better on it than the heavyweight 24-70mm but I guess its something you've got to get used to because the owners seem comfortable with them

what prime lens would you guys recomend for my 550d? i already have a 50mm 1.8, i want sumthin around 30mm with f/1.4
*
why not get sumthin around 30mm with f/1.4 then... I think th Sigma one would be a good choice or if your uncertain, look into different primes (just to compare, maybe you would like this focal length too), the 85mm f1.4 / f1.8 ones seem nice
