hey guys just want to ask on your opinions..i currently have the 450d, i'm planning to upgrade to 60d..
i can;t seem to decide between the older 50d and the 60d...
any benefits of the 60d besides the rotating screen (which i think comes useful at times...sometimes) and the higher megapix(do we ever care abt this? i rarely shoot at High resolution)

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 15 2010, 10:57 PM) New generation of DSLR doesn't really meant for taking photos only. HDSLR is something that looks tempting but I'm yet to start exploring. Plan to get another 16GB SDHC specially for HD video. U mean to say u have a 16gb sdhc card and u need another one? haha does the video come out alright when u use the 55-250mm on zoom without a tripod?

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Nov 16 2010, 11:08 AM) For your purpose, I reckon the 18-55 IS or the 18-135mm kit lens will be more useful for your stated purpose. Reason being: - 50mm lacks versatility for travel purpose. Shoot people (note singular) is ok but for buildings its too tight and you may need to compose by only framing a portion of the building only. - 50mm is too way too tight to take pics of house deco unless you only wanna shoot small items or live in a huge mansion - The AF is also too slow.. and hunts badly in low light for kids running around. However: The 50mm f1.8 could be useful for portrait shots (of which isolating the background could be useful) if your kid stays still. Like ComradeZ said, the 50mm f1.8 is a great piece of practice equipment.. for play play and to learn. The 50mm 1.8 is a good investment..it's affordable and it produces good quality pictures. Only problem is when u don't have a full frame camera.

QUOTE(faizzi007 @ Nov 16 2010, 10:50 PM) But once I buy a telephoto, I won't sell the 1855 coz u know, I still need a wide for events.... Its quite an expensive investment to buy a rm 200+ CPL for a kit lens Plus once u upgrade to a better lens u will have a problem.. With RM 200 + I would certainly recommend a 50mm 1.8 just top up a lil more.. This is just my 2 cents..

QUOTE(wha7ever @ Nov 16 2010, 11:02 PM) The problem is 58mm. Buying something like CPL or ND filter, you got to make it usable on all lenses with different thread. If you get one 77mm CPL, you can get one set of step up right and it will be usable for all range of lenses (with different thread size). But for a 58mm CPL, not much lenses can utilize it (especially those with above 58mm filter thread). Hence, I say it's not a very good investment. However, if you are very sure that you gonna stick with the 18-55 for very long time, then it's pretty much justified. Totally agree with u!

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 3 2010, 06:41 PM) @Sniper Thanks! Still learning, most of my shots were underexposed(using Av) but since i'm shooting in RAW so, not so bad la Also noticed that i need to keep changing my flash exposure compensation. Due to inaccurate TTL or it's like that? My next picture Will upload more when i upgrade my flickr pro account later. I need 18mp of goodness!! Girl or Ferrari? Ooooooo nice picture... Both the Ferrari and the legs... Just my 2 cents : u should have used higher apperture to capture the legs...
