Now that you mentioned it.. I was shooting my collegue with Eiffel tower (the hourly bling thing) in the background at night. Her comment was like "WTF is that bunch of round balls  behind her?"  doh.gif
I think w/o BG.. the 550D balances the best with lens weight (not too long ones la) around 400-500grams.
Luxury approach --> 35L
Kiasu approach --> Siggy 30mm
Average joe approach --> 28mm f/1.8/ 25mm f/2

My friend commented on Christmas tree bokeh: "Why did you photoshop the Christmas tree with the colored round balls?" doh.gif

Moral of the story: Bokeh-ness may not work all the time laugh.gif

Swt..
Actually i going to be "heng dai" for my fren wedding going to the bride's house,  if using m mode, and frankly speaking i still noob doing that, quiet slow..U know, from outdoor to inside the house gotta do setting again.. Haha..
Use p mode with flash to obtain correct exposure at all time, is this idea working?
1 more question.. Should i bounce the flash or point to the couples with diffuser? If bounce, with or without diffuser?
*
Try to bounce if possible, up left or right, whichever convenient. Reminds me of a wedding shoot I did last week for my relatives, I usually just run some testing beforehand. Low ISO+Small Aperture outdoors, High ISO+Bigger Aperture indoors. Just calibrate to the best exposure settings, then I just use back the same settings and worry more on composition. Only did some minor tweaking like flash power and EV compensations.

However, I just read in a magazine article earlier that P mode may cause the camera to raise the shutter speed and make the background look darker, thus making the picture looked less flattering, is that true?

But being "heng dai".... you got time shooting while being "tortured" by the jiemuis? (Bridesmaids) brows.gif
