I'm not too sure about that.btw, you don't need to install dualboot Ubuntu. You may make a livecd of Ubuntu. Hence you boot into linux from cd...that would be easier smile.gif

guys, anyone tried blessn900? how does it compare with fcamera? or fcamera still the best?
*
this 1 I'm sure. FCAM is better on overall. BlessN900 have its pros though such as zoom and flash. but overall, I vote for FCAM.

Dungung lar that guy...Android is open-source. If you want to charge for IOS it's ok. but if you charge for Android, it's against the Open Source Definition.

QUOTE
1. Free Redistribution

The license shall not restrict any party from selling or giving away the software as a component of an aggregate software distribution containing programs from
several different sources.

The license shall not require a royalty or other fee for such sale.
It means Google can't charge for Android OS, Nokia can't charge for Maemo OS and LinuxCanonical can't charge for Ubuntu.
Unless, it is the developer that want to charge you for whatever reason. Then that's stupid. It would most probably affect their sales.
It's not easy to repeat the Microsoft dominance on computer OS.

Slight mistake there.
Canonical is the company in charge of ubuntu distribution.
Linux is more like OS category.

It's it open source but in real life I don't mind pay some low amount if I can good continuous OS support.
*
sorry. I don't really know about Linux cause I'm using Windows 7. doh.gif being affected by Microsoft. Paid for Original Software. All my computer OS are paid believe it or not. Spent thousands of dollars for OSes.
Wanna try Linux someday.
Are you using Linux?

I wouldn't mind to pay a small amount too but I mean real "small". 39.99 isn't the slightest bit of small amount for me. doh.gif

If its really loosen.. it should lose signal when I move the phone around. The network lost when i put the phone on table.

If its telco problem. Even if i reboot the network also will be poor.

Now sounds like a bug for my phone.

I go to phone connectivity and changed it to GSM & manually select MY MAXIS. See how it goes...  Can't turn off the CALL FORWARDING.. I set to NO and SAVE.. When i get back.. Still the same..

BTw, how to turn off the auto-rotate.. Damn annoying..
*
auto rotate only happens in phone...but if you want to turn it off...enter phone>options>turning control>display orientation>portrait or landscape smile.gif

@03000738: Support for XP is ending soon actually, tho I agree with tech companies supporting their firmware better.

Nokia USED to be a good example for the, hell the E71 got firmware updates well into the earlier part of this year, that's three freakin' years - almost an eternity in tech terms.

Hopefully they pull Meego off. I'm itching for a "proper" mobile linux implementation (which I refuse to call Android as).
*
I woudn't pay for bug fixes but I would pay for a totally new FW. Not just you know a normal update. You do realise we get tons of updates (well maybe not Maemo)(I'm mentioning Symbian) If we were to pay for every single update, wouldn't that be insane? laugh.gif

I wonder why my Fcam always stuck after taking 3 to 4 pictures...
Then i hit the QUIT button.. there's a SAVING button pop up at the middle..
Just like that.. can't do anything already and the last picture is not saved..
*
urm...not always...on specific cases, I think there's a bug. I tried taking a photo the other day, the dragon gold thing. I set 1 settings. Forever hang, I need to kill the processes using HTOP. More than 5 times. Then I change settings, then ok already. I think there's a bug in the software.

anyways, the fcam, the pictures where is it saved to? fcamera folder or somewhere else? cause the one in fcamera folder i cant open it. its in some sort of weird format
*
Slide down in FCAM app, select Autosave to N900 gallery.
Then you will see the JPEG format.
those in FCAM folder are in dng format.

I'll try and play play with the setting first then ..  blush.gif

Anyway, regarding the DNG format.. Is the quality better than JPEG? I see the file size is around 10.6mb.. I delete all cause can't view 'em ..
*
you can view them in computer. it's RAW format for dng but I'm not sure about quality. you should ask Sifu Aspire. I guess he knows.

Sifu heng havent master what's raw for. Nvm i speak behalf of sifu Heng.
RAW format is big because it keeps all the setting in it so u can adjust brigthness, colour etc without ruin the photo.

Jpeg u do that the quality will run abit.

Thats why DSLR have choice of Jpeg or RAW
*
Thank you. Now I know already. notworthy.gif
The only thing I know before this is JPEG is a compressed format. That's why the filesize is a lot smaller.
Now I know the true reason biggrin.gif

I don't really know how to explain in full technical term but the reason why webOS games run well unmodified in Maemo is because the same basic code structure & similar hardware.
It'll be very hard to reproduce the same success with Android apps.

I have a potential ffk case in my 8GB C10 bulk.Anyone wants it drop me a pm.

Also how many of you yet to get female 2 female adapter?
*
How much is the Micro-SD and how much is the Female to Female adapter? smile.gif
thanks

RM85
There is easy way to prove that JPEG is heavily compressed format.
Take a screenshot of your desktop, open Paint,Paste & save the image as .bmp, then save as it as .jpg
Open both the image & you should see the .jpeg colours "off" a bit compared to .bmp

MicroSD is RM85.Adapter is RM8 if I'm not mistaken.Planning to ask someone to buy for me.

yeap. I wish for longer battery life too sweat.gif

I think I would do without the micro-sd. About the Female to Female adapter, is the mod stable or still as it is in day 1 pre-beta stage? smile.gif
thx in advance.

Don't another user in LYN said Sunglobal battery ratings are fake. He said Nokia original migt even have better battery life than Sunglobal battery.

The OTG function works fine but it'll be a mess to configure for those who are using titans kernel.
It's because The OTG kernel is based on PR 1.3 omap kernel.
*
it means if I did not mod the kernel and it's on default, it should work well? smile.gif
