Finally, my turn to post a song muahaha!!!
http://eongxien.multiply.com/music Titled Fulfilling Dream. I encoded it in both MP3 (1st file) & OGG (2nd file) formats, the sound quality of the OGG is much better than that of mp3 but if you couldn't be bothered with downloading a 19MB file, the mp3 will do. Since it's 6 1/2 minutes long it might be draggy for some, nevertheless... enjoy! Oh btw, feel free to add me at Multiply. This post has been edited by led_zep_freak: Mar 15 2006, 09:22 PM |

QUOTE(modD @ Mar 16 2006, 10:30 AM) i've been out of the guitar world for quite a while, concentrating on electro music. as such, this comment can be considered a non-guitarist's opinions Haha no way man... you've recorded some great guitar stuff before and that should earn you the permanent rocker status. so when i heard your song, led zep, i feel refreshed! honestly... from the Little Wing intro right to the end, i find myself just flowing with the song. yeah it's a little draggy for some, but to me it's fine. i like it. apart from that i dunno what to comment heheh Thanks a lot for your comments btw, modD. |

QUOTE(Jemi @ Mar 17 2006, 12:44 PM) led_zep_freak Thanks a lot for your comments, I'ill work on those 2 aspects. Good stuff . I have to admit that I like the song but some part need to redo, the reverb abit to much for me especially at beginning or maybe the whole track. The clean part at the beginning to hendrix, if you create your own style much more better. Practise more on your; picking = can see unconsistentcy on your picking. Bending = some bending not so smooth Over all i like the song. Keep it up. Thanks a lot for your comments again. |

QUOTE(pokute @ Mar 20 2006, 01:34 AM) here's my latest song creation: I've heard your song some time ago, not bad. Perhaps you could add some variation to the melody such as vibratos/bends etc to keep things interesting. Overall pretty good. http://rapidshare.de/files/15908209/grunge101.mp3.html by the way, this song isn't completed 100% yet. I recorded this song just to get some rough ideas. and yes, comments are appreciated! QUOTE(Pix @ Mar 20 2006, 03:26 AM) led zep > i've been listening to your song once only, i'll listen to it a bit much and give some comments about it. overall, i'm very impressed Thanks heh... |

I've heard it last night... not bad. The licks in the beginning could be smoother but other than that, pretty solid soloing and rhythmg playing.

QUOTE(echobrainproject @ May 21 2006, 01:50 PM) started, recorded and mixed this song early this morning before going to church. sort of a rush and improv effort too, but spent more time and effort in it compared to my last song posted here (and i still wonder why pix hasnt said anything...but anyways....). Damn, gotta love the thumping bass drum!!! Like you've said it, it's a great mix of metal and techno! Too bad it's kinda short, are you working on a full track?? Can't wait to hear the full one if that's the case. its really a mix of different things from metal to classic rock to bit of blues plus techno with a pop touch. effects using boss gt8. listen to it in stereo guys! headphones are even better not so much on shredding(sorry guys) but a more melodic approach to fit the song. echobrainproject - 3am on a sunday morning Do expand on the techno part (0:14-0:42), it's very catchy and imo the highlight of the track. Oh you've left out one good tip to listen to your track, turn it up LOUD! Oh, we're all waiting for Pix's comments aren't we? |

Music-wise, the songs are pretty good, could use a bit of originality though. Try searching for your own identity, even by bringing in different influences such as blues, jazz or even pop you could inject a whole new vibe into your songs.
I've only listened to 3 songs, Beth's recorded alright, but please lower down the levels on the orchestra/synth! Also the clean guitar parts are too dry and soulless. Even a little vibrato or delay effect could make it sound more professional, just don't leave it that dry! Shades & Fall Back are not bad I guess. The latter has a bit of Creed feel. Lastly, regarding your vocalist... is he trying too hard??? It seems that he's straining to hit every note... maybe he should relax a bit cause it sort of creates tension in the listener, that isn't a good thing, is it? Your band is good and has a lot of potential. For a demo, it's pretty good and should secure you guys some gigs but there are areas that need to be worked on. Hope to hear more stuff from Greedy Jane. |

Yup, try to relax a little bitlar hahah... and make use of dynamics, as in techniques such as whisper, falsetto, vibrato etc... fundamental things like these could make the songs more interesting.

Wow, nice recording... althought it does sound a little bass-heavy on my computer.
The mix is very good imo and since I'm a newbie here, I can't comment or suggest much. |

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Jun 12 2006, 09:56 AM) Not exactly My Song, but just a sample of the clean-ness of my EMG 85 Pickup..... The clean sound is alright I guess, I'm not a fan of active pickups and less so with their clean sound, it's pretty 'artificial' and 'unorganic' to my ears... I think they're best when played in distorted tone but clean sound-wise... I still prefer passives. It's the intro for Alter Bridge's Broken Wing btw..... Remember the older clip you posted with the PAF-style clean tone, that was really sweet and surprised me as I thought it was the EMG |

QUOTE(Pix @ Jun 19 2006, 12:50 PM) some bass experiment with the new pod xt software... to be listened on big speakers or headphones, otherwise you won't hear the bass frequencies. Wow... did you use a real bass on the bass track?? I like your soloing style... very jazzy yet bluesy. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...7262B015F8C7F2C |

QUOTE(Pix @ Jun 20 2006, 06:19 AM) thanks led zep, it's very nice for you to say so Any preferred note choice??? Or modes??? I wanna steal some of your soloing style lar. regarding the bass, it's a new octaver effect on the pod v3, very very very interesting... I just love to do funky bass lines, so that's a great way for me to record them until i get a real bass... Well it sounds close to a real bass. |

QUOTE(Pix @ Jun 20 2006, 01:19 PM) oh... the mode... the best of them all Yeah right Ionian... the blues scale !!! with extra notes from the ionian scale, and small chromatic slides. Basically, loads of crap There is a small variation in the middle of the song, i change from A blues scale to the F# blues scale... it doesn't last long though. You think the bass sound is ok ? it's too "deaf" and bassy for me... i'll try other settings later... you can't even hear it on average speakers, can you ? On normal volume it's barely audible, have to turn it up a bit to hear the track. |

QUOTE(coriandery @ Jun 21 2006, 10:28 AM) Only just noticed this topic. So I thought I'd pimp some of the indie pop songs I've been writing and recording recently! Hey, nice pop trio you got there. I like the song Let's Meet Up! The instruments on this track sound pretty toy-like but I love it! It injects the fun factor into the track. And I like the vocal harmonies especialyl in the intro, kinda have that Beach Boys/surf vibe to it. I put them on myspace I like Broken Record Heart too... sounds like you guys are having fun. I love pop music when it's done right. QUOTE(echobrainproject @ Jun 21 2006, 06:08 PM) dont be shy....led zep wont touch u He owes us some Tahiti chicks pics!!! just share what did u play. it sounds really nice. not the typical blues stuff Yeah, not the typical blues stuff that I only know. |

Pix, you usually get the 'jazzy' comment on your solos and you're always guilty about it lol!
