Ohh,

my bad regarding that,

for that I don't think you can, After all, it's a small woofer..If you find ways to tweak it better, then it will definitely mess up the speaker.

+ Dynaudio is more towards Sound Quality audio, thus the low-mid bass. If it's too strong, the bass will cover up the quality thus making it "Not Authentic" anymore ;P

Good Morning Sanko,

Thanks for the reply... How much is the new model?

Also the specs please?

Sorry for all the questions...  smile.gif
*
The new model specs is exactly the same except that it comes with GT635m which is a replacement for GT555m. You can refer pricing guide and specs list from the first page of this thread tongue.gif

QUOTE(astria @ Jan 5 2012, 02:23 PM)
haha, yeah, still couldn't believe i actually bought it... was looking at HP dv6 and GE620 previously... then saw GT683, wanted it but ran out of stock, less a display unit (PC Fair in Hong Kong here juz ended 3 days ago)... so got this instead... was hoping it comes with quad core, but oh well, dual core is sufficient for myself, and it's pretty fast too... main emphasis is the GTX 570M... brows.gif

anyway GT685 and GT783 are official on MSI website...
*
HP DV6 and GE620 to a GT683..that is a really huge jump tongue.gif. And it's worth it! BTW added in the post to your unboxing pictures wink.gif. Really poisonous indeed brows.gif

And I'm jelly you got the free bag T_T..I wonder if MSI malaysia sells em seperately for those who didn't get it laugh.gif

Right now the most poisonous thing to me is the GT783. Really love that beast. And I'm quite curious...i read from some sites it states that it comes with 4 dynaudio speakers + 1 woofer and some say 2 speakers and 1 woofer..i wonder which is the more accurate one ><

I believe astria has help you out through your answers tongue.gif.

But anyway, the latest MSI Model all comes with the i7-2670 don worry.

As for buying the MSI laptop, just PM sanko. He can help you organize it. I believe a lot of people here bought directly from them as well. They are MSI representatives in Malaysia so 140% you won't get con wink.gif

As for warranty issue, people always say Dell has the best warranty. But they have no idea how much MSI is better than Dell especially thanks to Sanko and MSI-MY in this forum to help support us. As long as you have problem, pm them, they will solve it in a jiffy. You have my words for that wink.gif. They help us a lot in many ways smile.gif

+1 to this... even for small things like wallpaper, Sanko gladly helped me to look for it, and to think that i didn't buy my set in Malaysia... thumbup.gif

btw, if u guys read up my review here. i mentioned that i ve the warranty sticker on the back panel... this is how it looks like:
[attachmentid=2627014][attachmentid=2627015]

i chanced upon this forum: http://www.coolaler.com/showthread.php?t=241494 (srry it's in Chinese)

the fourth last post of the page says that as long as the parts are not damaged delibrately, it doesn't matter if the warranty sticker is torn or not

anyone can shed some light?
*
For this, i think you better contact local market to confirm. I think most likely they will call you to go to their service centre if you ever need to change the parts inside. Unless you dare to carefully pluck out tat sticker tongue.gif or forge a new one brows.gif then stick it back

Thanks astria and viruz for the help,
For Malaysia notebook spec, you can actually goto my.msi.com and browse through the search bar. Here is the link for all our GE620 models. Actually the naming of GE620DX-FHD and GE620DX-675 can only be found in Malaysia page as only we separate them in different naming scheme. As for purchases, MSI Malaysia is not selling and we are not allowed to. What i'm doing merely is directing the end user where to purchase it depending on the location and the stock availability in reseller/dealers side. Cheers.

You're welcome. Glad we can help out. Anyway, thanks for sharing that info, easier for us to tell those new comers tongue.gif

juz wondering...

if we self upgrade say, CPU, GPU or WiFi adapter... warranty void?

i am looking to put my Momentus XT into my GT683DX... and looking to change the WiFi adapter some time later (maybe juz take the Atheros adapter from my old laptop tongue.gif)...
*
I think different region have different rules and regulations so yeah tongue.gif

Anyway, my suggestion if you change the parts already, when sh*t happens, just swap back the original part before warranty tongue.gif

QUOTE(Sanko @ Jan 9 2012, 12:28 AM)
viruz019,
You go no choice but to do a mirror image copy. The F3 recovery image can only be found via our ASP. It comes with the whole OS bundle. So you can't install it separately with your own fresh OS and embed it into the OS.

astria,
Unfortunately yes astria. Currently for MSI Malaysia we only allow upgrading of Memory and HDD. But i'll check with my PM if you bring your stuff to ASP and let them upgrade it, will it void the warranty. I hope you can understand that we can't differentiate enthusiast/gurus/new users. For you, i'm pretty sure you can upgrade it yourself without any problem. But for new users, if they damage anything during upgrading process apart of Memory and HDD, it will void the warranty. If i'm not mistaken, only MSI Malaysia allows Memory and HDD upgrading, the rest of the countries only Memory. I managed to convince our boss that if Memory upgrade is allow, it's a no brainer if you do not allow HDD upgrade as it's even simpler than Memory. As for Wifi Adapter, you may need to open up some internal parts depending on the design. I did a Wifi Adapter change before and guess what, it's located behind the lcd panel. It's not really that simple.
*
Hmm, mirror image copy..means it's like cloning my my current HDD data into the SSD right? So to say, if I did the mirror image copy, then the F3 recovery image will also be transferred to my SSD right?

Thanks for the clarification tongue.gif

Anyway, regarding the WiFi adapter..luckily this time MSI place their WiFi directly under the power button or near there..else it would really be a pain in the ass..wanna upgrade my current WiFi adapter to the BigFoot 1 brows.gif

After a month of testing, I can say that MSI really did a great job in the cooling department of the G series.

Here's my brief experience on the said issue:

*Without my room AC on (room temp around the lappy area 33C)

TDE - Off
Average CPU temp (Idle) : 46C
Average GPU temp (Idle) : 41C

TDE - On, Stock core clock
Average CPU temp (gaming) : 80C
Average GPU temp (gaming) : 65C

It's impressive still despite the warm condition of my room.

*With AC on, set at 25C

TDE - Off
Average CPU temp (Idle) : 43C
Average GPU temp (Idle) : 32C

TDE - On, OCed to 710MHz core clock, stock voltage (no modification done)
Average CPU temp (Gaming) : 68C (Max recorded 72C)
Average GPU temp (Gaming) : 56C (Hardly passed 60C on intense gaming sessions)  drool.gif

Games tested :

Fifa 12 (19x12) with LOD Ultra mod - No issues
Mafia II (19x12) All set to High, Physx high, - Playable, no stuttering
Dirt 3 (19x12) Everything's maxed out - No issues
Batman Arkham City (19x12) Everything's maxed out, Phsx medium, DX9 mode - Playable, no issues, not stable on DX11 mode (game is buggy so no wonder)
Skyrim (19x12) Ultra setting - Playable but lower the reso (as in my case), you'll get more satisfaction with stable framerates and no laggy issue, and it's tweaked with AO set to Quality, AF set to 16x, Texture Filtering set to High Quality.
Battlefield3 (19x12) Ultra mode, no prob but I still prefer to play it on a lower reso than FHD, no sudden drop in framerate at all.

Note : Heavy games like BF3, Skyrim, Batman, all have been tested with GPU OCed to 710MHz core clock. Tested on Nvidia beta driver 290.53

Overall, for a RM5.2K I paid for this baby monster  tongue.gif , it's damn good already for a mobile gaming experience.  brows.gif
*
That's some good looking temp O.O.

It's time for me to change my thermal paste already sad.gif..my temp now idle 50+ can hit to 60+ *maybe because i rarely off my laptop tongue.gif*

bt highest temp i ever hit when playing game was around 78-80 when playing modern warfare 3 at full setting + eco mode to Gaming
