Yes I used the 64 bit version but somehow it got BSOD anyway it's ok now.
Yeah the sound it's pretty good compare to my Asus since it god subwofer, will take a good care of it  nod.gif

I'm playing The Witcher 2  rclxms.gif

Also started on Witcher 2 a few days ago. Currently still in Act 1 , Flotsam. biggrin.gif

Playing on 1366x766 resolution on all Ultra settings w/o Ubersampling, managed to get it to run around constant 30fps. Liking the game so far, definitely the sickest looking cRPG to date.

Just took a look at the GT780 on the official site.

Looks like serious poison to me, with all the new features. biggrin.gif

Not to mention GTX560M is turning out better than expected. Notebookcheck benchmarks place it somewhere between 5870 and GTX480M.

O.O..GTX560 is that good? i tot they say raw power lose to 5870? hmm.gif

i wonder what will MSI surprise us with next? first dynaudio..then steelseries..what's next? sony bravia screen? tongue.gif
*
They only tested it on a few games. Generally they managed to perform on par with 5870, with some benchmarks even exceeding.

Now you mentioned it, MSI could definitely use a screen upgrade. Wonder if we can get something to match those dell RGB-LED screens on MSI gaming laptops.. biggrin.gif

i think some of those benchmarks that exceeds the 5870 is because of the better dx11 built into the gtx560 right? tongue.gif

yeap..their screen arent the best compare to what others are offering right now..wud be nice to see msi provide superior led screens for us brows.gif
*
Yup. Mafia 2 is one of the games they benchmarked. The availability of PhsyX support in GTX560M makes the competition here pretty one sided if you ask me. tongue.gif

I think they have been using the same LED panel for the G series from GT660 to GT680R. Pretty much the reason why they really need a screen upgrade. Even Sager laptops got an upgrade in the later models, with much better viewing angles and color accuracy.

Lol my intuition telling me to wait doesn't fail me , finally it's true lol.Been getting this myth since last month , anyway how much differ is gtx 580m and gtx 570m??
*
GTX580M is basically a higher clocked version of GTX485M (384 cores), while GTX570M is a higher clocked version of GTX470M (336 cores)

No architectural changes though, so unfortunately I think we shouldn't expect very much of a performance boost. sad.gif

If msi gt780r has gtx 580m , and add in an expresscard slot and also firewire slot  then it's a perfect laptop
*
Too bad they won't sad.gif GT780R is shipping in with GTX570M, but not the 580M.

570M still looks like a really good upgrade from 470M though. biggrin.gif

GRATZ ON GETTING URS!! ITS A BEAUTY!!

I think the pricing quoted locally when I approached a shop in Low Yat was pretty insane.. They quoted me at RM7400 for the same spec and it nearly gave me a heart attack. I was browsing for GT683R price online but thought I would go to low yat to save me the trouble of asking my aunt to buy it for me and pay shipping costs but when they told me how much it would cost locally, I was pretty shocked. I think I would've paid a little bit more but def not RM7400. Below is the specs that I've ordered :

CPU : Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Processor (6M Cache, 2.00 GHz)
Memory : DDR3 1333MHz, 16GB
Graphic card : Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M 1.5GB GDDR5
HDD : 750GB + 120GB SSD
Optical drive : Blu Ray + DVD RW
LCD : 15.6" (1920 x 1080 FHD)
Battery : 9 Cell

and the usual ports 2 usb 3.0, 2 usb 2.0, 1 HDMI  and 1 VGA. I just realized they are offering a better CPU at gentechpc which is the 2920QM but it costs a bomb. Btw, I did not buy it from gentechpc. I got my great grand aunt to buy it for me from the US and it cost about RM6500. Ironically she works for Mac in the states. smile.gif. Anyway, am hoping to see it being brought locally for a reasonable price. Am gonna poison my brother in buying the GT780R. It's time he got his laptop changed  brows.gif
*
That's the advantage of buying gaming notebooks overseas. Their prices tend to be a lot less compared to the local prices, even inclusive of shipping and delivery costs. Although getting warranty for your laptop will be a b**ch though biggrin.gif

By the way, may I ask what brand of SSD are they offering? Corsair? Intel? or something else altogether?

PS: lonelywolf90, STOP. POISONING. US. tongue.gif

Viruz, if we go to your shop in the future, can we get special discounts? drool.gif tongue.gif

And lonelywolf90, plzzz don't tempt me into doing something stupid, like forking over another few thousand RM for no reason, GT780DXR is toxic enough by itself already... biggrin.gif

is it performance of gtx 570 is same with gtx 460 ?
*
GTX570M:
336 CUDA cores, 575/1070/1150 MHz Core/Shader/Memory speed

GTX460M:
192 CUDA cores, 675/1350/1250 MHz Core/Shader/Memory speed

That makes GTX570M around 50-60% stronger compared to GTX460M

PS: Glad to hear GT780DXR is finally out. It's high time MSI popped a top-tier performance GPU into their gaming laptops.. biggrin.gif

Whew... seems like its forever last time I was here biggrin.gif

Can't make it to the more recent ones, but might be able to make it to the KLCC one on 2-4 December though. Need to take a few days break from my FYP

Will try to get to the MSI booth and test out the GT780DX first tongue.gif

Hi,
may i know if its okay to turn on the special fan (one touch cooling system button) all the time? And also is ati mobility radeon 5870 outdated or still pretty good right now?

tq.
*
Been forever since I posted here.

To answer your question, turning your fan on all the time shouldn't be a problem I guess, but I find the fan noise rather annoying. I'll suggest turning it on while you're running power-hungry games though.

And about Radeon 5870, it's starting to fall behind the times. I can still run all the current titles without slowdowns, but had to resort to "Medium" settings for some of the more intensive games out there. Performance wise it's only comparable to the GT650 (mobile version).

On a side note, you just made me realize that my laptop is over 2 years old already. biggrin.gif

I'm pretty ok with the noise as i use earphones. May i know any tips to reduce the temperature of the laptop? I've just  gotten back my laptop after replacing its motherboard and graphic card (overheat issues). However, speedfan shows that the temp is 56-59 degrees when i only have chrome on, 49-55 degrees when external fan is on (not cooling pad, don't have a cooling pad). Or is this normal temp for this laptop?
*
I think that should be pretty normal, according to SpeedFan, mine seems to be running consistently slightly below 60 degrees on load (running games). Other than the fan, i don't think I use other cooling accessories. Tried using cooling pads before but doesn't seem to help much, since the laptop design is already slightly elevated.
