My torch don't even move a single bit when it's extended. Only slight movement when it's not extended, which i think is fine.

Oh, what tethering? Mine is not AT&T set but I just upgrade by deleting vendor.xml.
Anyway, what tethering options do we have besides the USB connection through Blackberry Desktop Software? |

Oh, that Mobile Internet, I have it without any hack because mine is not AT&T.
I'm just wondering, are there any tethering methods that does not require Desktop Manager software. Maybe, direct Bluetooth tethering? |

Used for 1 week+, no lagging/hanging. I personally never owned a phone which would hang.

The sliding mechanism imposes an additional potentially failure point. Since it's mechanical, there is definitely a MTBF for the ribbon. If it was designed and constructed well, the MTBF of sliding mechanism could be long enough to sustain till other parts were deteriorated first.
I heard the ribbon is similar to those used on DSLR camera/lens with MTBF of about 1 million times slide. If you use it carefully enough, there should be no problem. |

Reverted back to .534. Still feel that .534 is a more refined firmware.

The credentials is your universal BlackBerry ID used in AppWorld as well. I hope you didn't mistakenly put in Beta Zone credentials.

Saw the new leaked firmware but quite lazy to set up my apps again. Most of them are beta (fb, twitter, BBM) and it requires me to put in the code again.

QUOTE(borneosailor @ May 13 2011, 07:22 PM) It's easy.1. Download Blackberry Desktop Software. 2. If there is an official update for your device, the software will prompt. 3. Many of the newer firmwares are not available for local devices yet, you can download the firmware installer file. Install it on the computer which has BB desktop software. Then manually check for firmware update. Them follow on-screen instructions. You may need to delete a file called vendor.xml if you're not allowed to upgrade after downloading the firmware installer. Google about it. In BlackBerry firmware updating, it's straight forward. No hacking required. |

I think it's HTML 5 support not Adobe Flash.

QUOTE(haxri @ May 15 2011, 08:28 PM) hi guys, im thinking about buying torch today. i just have a few questions, 1. Yes if you roam out of the country or have another SIM with BIS in the foreign country.1. can i use BBM while im out of the country? 2. is it the best BB? thanks 2. Best within its league. If you prefer the original look without touch screen, then it's Bold 9780. |

Yeah, that's the behavior of BlackBerry devices.
Wi-Fi connection will still be used for http browsing. Some other BIS-based app may still use cellular data connection. Best is just to leave everything on and use as is. |
