If comparing the TV within the price range, will Samsung be better than Panasonic, LG or Sharp? In terms of durability and functions...

LG 49" Full HD Smart LED TV 49LJ550T
Toshiba 49" 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV 49U7650VM
Sharp 50" 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV LC-50UA440X
Sharp 50" Full HD Smart LED TV LC-50LE580X
Sharp 50" 4K Android Smart LED TV LC-50UE630X
Sony 49-inch Full HD Smart LED TV with HDR SNY-KDL49W660E
Panasonic 49-inch UHD Smart TV PSN-TH49EX600K
Panasonic TH 49ES630K Smart TV FHD LED 49

Still haven't decide 49 or 55 inch.

Looks like most if not all of us will be looking at the 3 namely Samsung, LG and Sony for a set of TV. However, something changed my perception completely and it is the Pana EX750. The picture quality is as good as the Samsung SUHD but at lower price, fall in love with it when I saw it for the first time. To me it is way better than the MU7000.
Harvey Norman is selling new set at RM97xx.
*
I see, salesman keep telling me Pana good in Fridge and Washer only, TV just normal range. How about Pana EX600, since my budget is only for an entry level below 3k..

For MU6300 vs MU6303. Retail Prices for both really big diff one is RM4k vs promotion price of RM2.7K for MU6300. But market price for both almost same.

Below is the reply answer from Samsung after I emailed them yesterday. Hope it help.
*
I notice this too from the full spec, but when ask their agent, they all say same spec... Really poor training.. MU6300 is better than 6303 and they now promo 6303... When i check with shop, these 2 models seems similar price, so I will take 6300 of pick samsung.. still comparing them against sony, lg and Panasonic..

Yes they are same price now even retail price very big gap when 6303 got promotion. Still not deside yet since Samsung don't offer Android TV. Will check Sony Android TV.
*
RRP is just RM200 diff, 4.3k vs 4.1k... but 6303 drop to 2.8k during this merdeka... But their market about same, if is me is sure take 6300 over 6303.. but dunnoe whether curved is good or not, somemore 6300 is more curve.. im comparing it against other brand too, dunnoe how other brands look like.. sony x7000E is basic internet tv, not android... LG screen, seems not good if compared to samsung or sony? Panasonic will lag?

QUOTE(puchongite @ Aug 30 2017, 08:22 AM)
So your preference is Android TV ? Now it seems only left Sony is only one making Android TV. Sharp LC__UA440X is also not Android.

Which one u ll be suggesting on entry level 4K tv priced below 3k??

More curve it make me feel like the screen size turn out smaller. Just my opinion when I look the the curve screen. I believe 6303 price after merdeka will keep stay at below RM3k, or else it can't sell for sure. Lol.... For me, Sony & Sharp still can consider but don't have good feel to LG or Panasonic.
*
Oo, why say so??how about samsung?? Lot ppl say Sharp can ignore, and top brands for tv are samsung sony lg pana??

Tempting  hmm.gif  did you buy online? from what i see very limited online seller offer extended warranty, those that does, the price is same as market and extended warranty is like 400++. Though I think standard 2 years is sufficient considering samsung a high end brand, itll be rarely to catch any problem

My friend experience 2-3times broke in a year... Repair took a month+ each

49" will works well with ur content. Perhaps u may try sony 49" 7000 series. Not bad too if u want to compare with samsung.

That's unlucky..does your friend spend a lot of hours on the tv daily? i have an old hd samsung tv that still running well for 5 years+ now except for the speakers ,distorts at high volume. My family dont watch tv daily anyway they spend mostly 2-4 hours in front tv. More hours on pc monitor lol.
*
Same watching behaviour, mostly weekend only.. maybe is his unlucky... Cos my another TV still okay, just he say tizen bit boring, screen wise ok

Samsung curve n flat version LED TV almost the same pricing when search online (not original retail prices). Examples MU6100, MU6300 or MU6303. I thought curve should be more expensive than flat versions. Any reason?
*
they said curve prone to faulty... and less viewing angle... dun buy 6303, it is lower end if compared to 6100 and 6300

From where did the SA got the info that MU6100 is IPS panel? This is almost impossible because Samsung doesn't produce IPS panel and they will have to buy panel from LG, their largest competitor.
Yes, viewing angle is definitely better on IPS and IPS pixel level response time is faster, so less motion blur for sports and fast moving scenes. Also the non black color reproduction is better as well, check out those LG SUHD TV with 10bits panel, the color is just impressive. The biggest problem for IPS is contrast, if you will watch the TV in dark room like bedroom at night, don't buy IPS TV, the black is bad with light bleed. But for large well lit living room, the IPS TV can produce quite good picture even watching from side.

I touched the screen with my fingers... Did you tried? That y i m curious whether it is IPS...

As quoted in Rtings comments for MU6300 (equivalent model of MU6100 in US)

"I recently bought the Samsung UE55MU6179 TV after reading the review of the MU6300 on your website, as I thought it also featured a VA panel from Samsung, Innolux, Sharp, AUO or whichever the manufacturer.

To my surprise I found out that Samsung provided my size with a PLS panel from BOE. Here is a picture from the secret service menu. It looks like Samsung does ship the MU6170 series with a VA panel for all the sizes but the 55".

Just wanted to point that out. I am not sure whether I will take the smaller 50" panel as I found out that the 55" PLS still fulfills my needs.

Very confusing and disappointing strategy by Samsung UE.

Have a nice day and thanks for the reviews."

A majority of MU6300 should be VA panel with some exceptions.

And it's probably not IPS but PLS since PLS is samsung panel (they probably not buying LG IPS panel for their entry level TV)
*
the unit on display for case also 55inch.. but he say 49 inch also IPS panel, i tried viewing angle that time also, really better than other Samsung model.. dunnoe what is PLS..

Just bought an UA65MU6100, waiting the shop sending to my house tomorrow. Price RM4999, donno is good deal or not.

Quite excited eventough it is a basic 4k tv(Currently using toshiba 40inch five years already, for sizewise, really a big different). First time buying basic 4k samsung tv, hopefully it can serve me at least few years time lahhh..

At first considering Panasonic EX600K 65inch,best price RM5575. But it dont have bluetooth function, expensive than MU6100, for picture quality i cant really see major difference, so at last i bought MU6100.

Will share more once received the TV tomorrow. Thanks

How is it the TV MU6100? nice?

Nice nice!! have u tried it at nite or side view? SA said it is "IPS" type panel, so is wider view and I notice this with their 55 inch TV.. true?
