Thanks for the tip..

Just look at LAZADA, 55ku6000 for RM2699.
And will keep looking.
*
That's a very good deal if its a new set.

Just get it. I doubt I have seen anywhere else selling cheaper than that.

The usual market price I've seen is around RM2899 to RM2999 for a new set.

The Q7 seems terrible. From initial impressions and reviews I don't think it's any better than the KS7000, maybe even worse.

Only the Q8 and Q9 looks worthwhile. But samsung has revealed that the Q9 will only be available in an 88 inch variant in Malaysia costing only RM 99,999 lmao.

As for the MU series, don't even bother unless you're on a very tight budget..

Apart from year model, anyone know what is the main diff between 65KU6000 and 65MU6100?

I am letting go my 65MU6100 at cheaper price but I don't know how to answer when someone ask me the difference, lol
*
Little to no difference.....you are considered lucky if someone willingly buys it off you at a higher price than the KU6000s on clearance right now.

QUOTE(awls80 @ May 29 2017, 01:14 PM)
Hi, hoping someone can help me. I'm looking to buy a 49" or 50" Smart TV. My budget is RM3000 and below. I have narrowed it down to

Samsung UA50KU6000 or
Sony 49X7000D

I can get the samsung for rm2405 and the sony for rm2800 on 11st. I know the samsung is UHD and the sony is HDR but I'm a noob with all these terms so I don't know which one is better.

I would like to be able to watch youtube videos, sync my samsung phone to view photos, videos etc and watch movies from my usb. Goes without saying that picture and audio quality must be good. Hope someone can help me!
*
The 700D is a decent TV but from some reviews I've read it has slight image retention issues, which is very strange and rare for an LED. Plus you only get 49 inches for RM2800.

Since you are willing to pay up till RM3000, get the Samsung UA55KU6000. Price is RM2799 with free delivery on 11street now fulfilled by Desa Home. Extra 6 inches from the 700D plus you get a TV of similar quality.

Come on la guys, providing feedback of how a KS7000 performs to a person who wants to buy a KU6000? wth

Its like telling someone how well a top of the line Accord or Camry drives to a person interested in getting a City or Vios.

QUOTE(awls80 @ May 29 2017, 07:57 PM)
Thanks a lot sifus! Will be ordering the ua55ku6000 tonight!
*
Bro awls80, just let me put it this way, the UA55KU6000 is a fantastic TV for its price. Perhaps the best you can get in the sub RM3k category at the moment. You get size, all the fancy features plus more than decent PQ for what you are actually paying for right now. It is on par with the 2017 MU6100 model for about half the price less.

The performance of the KS7000 like what other forummers above are mentioning is a notch above the KU6000, so they can hardly be used as useful feedback or a yardstick in your case. But then again you will have to shell out almost double the price.

#yougetwhatyoupayforlah.

That being said, with a 3k budget, you will hardly be disappointed with the KU6000.

Hi, need advice for less than rm2k Samsung TV. How's the 49" FHD UA49K5100AKXXM ? Don't need smart TV either. Is the pq ok?
*
QUOTE(voncrane @ May 29 2017, 10:25 PM)
Yes it is.. If you can live with it... Hard to get a "non-smart" TV today. Question is how smart.. Lower your expectations and you should be good. If you are picky about PQ? no choice, must increase budget significantly (minimum X2).. Sorry to be blunt, but it is what it is.

Couldn't have put it any better myself biggrin.gif

IMO, looks like Samsung is trying to fool those not in the know that those sets are equal to a true OLED display.. Marketing.
*
Haha theoretically you can also say the QLED is just a rebranded version of SUHD.

QLED is just an enhanced version of the Quantum Dot tech found already on all SUHD models.

Yup, such is marketing....

Want even cheaper and save more money?

Get the KU6000 on clearance instead of the MU6100.

The MU6100 is essentially just a KU6000 with a 2017 model number slapped on it.

Get the UA55KS7000. As mentioned in the post above, RM5,399 from Lazada, ain't that bad a price for a brand new unit to be honest.

KS Series > MU series, by a mile.

As for the QLEDS, the Q7 seems to be inferior to both the KS7000 and KS9000 but the Q8 seems to be marginally better than the KS9000. Has a slightly wider color gamut and a little higher in peak brightness. But then these look like their out of your budget.

with Curve TV very difficult mount into Wall, is a bit ugly
Therefore non-curve TV better mounted into wall with present view in your living hall.
*
Well that is just your opinion.

I have a 65" KS9000 mounted on the wall of my home and I have friends who have 65" C6s mounted on the wall as well and it looks just as great if not better IMO. But I will not knock you on your preferences. After all this highly depends on one's taste.

However, FYI it is not difficult at all to mount curved TVs on the wall or panels. I DIY-ed it myself and helped my mates as well and each time it was no more difficult mounting a curve as compared to mounting a flat. Flat or curved they all come with the same standard VESA mount interface. Please stop spreading false information if you've actually never done something yourself before.

Seems that they require different screws :-

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/TVs/Mou...Size/td-p/43673
*
Not sure about that but I could use all the screws with a standard VESA tilt mount with no problems at all.

Its been more than half a year and it is still secure and hasn't fallen off.

It could be the mount the person bought did not supply the screws needed.

But at At the end of the day it is still a standard VESA interface found on most if not all TVs, curved or flat.

Yup. It is entirely one's taste.

But curved or flat, ALL TVs today use the SAME VESA Mounting Interface Standard so as long as you use a VESA mount, depending on the size of the interface on your tv (200x200, 300x300, or 400x400), it will fit, curve or flat.

How you mount it is exactly the same. Curved or flat. So how is it more difficult for something that literally requires the same effort and using the same mounts to boot mega_shok.gif

Seriously this isn't rocket science.

Even the shop selling TV and mounts telling me that they need to use different screw leh. Likely longer screw needed to hold properly.
*
I've installed so many TVs for friends and family, flat or curve, they are all compatible with VESA mounts and brackets.

The screws supplied with the mounts are usually sufficient. Even cap ayam VESA mounts come with a variety of screws and spacers. But of course to be safe, always measure the depth of your TV screw holes first to get a good idea of how deep it goes. You can just take a toothpick put it in and make a mark on the toothpick and you will have a rough idea of how deep your screw hole goes. Then compare it with the screws that you currently have and compare the depth vs the length of the screws. Then look at the length of the spacers you have as well. If the screws you have do not fit just go to the hardware store and get some.

Its the same regardless if your TV is curved or flat. The same VESA mounts will work and the way you mount it is no different for curved or flat TVs. Stating curved TVs are more difficult to mount on walls or panels are a common misconception and utter bullshit.

laugh.gif  laugh.gif.. Nah, not this year.. I've still got warranty, so if any issues, I get a replacement. Basically, I'm waiting and hoping that OLED tech issues get sorted and it becomes cheaper. If by my deadline, it's still too pricey, then no choice...Won't be able to tahan any longer. Probably pick up a 65/80" 4K Dolby Vision or whatever is its successor by then brows.gif
*
I'm also waiting for OLED to sort out their issues. The issues they have are a huge turn off for me. At the moment I find the cons of a top end LED more bearable than the cons of an OLED. In terms of PQ its currently you win some and you lose some for both.

But if and when OLED can iron out their kinks, it will be the end of LEDs then into the bedroom the 65KS9000 goes. laugh.gif

Display or new doesn't matter imo. If you get a lemon, new or display it's still a lemon.

But personally I prefer new. Don't like my stuff abused by other people beforehand.

I'm usually one of those guys that just "hentam" on everything and anything on display. Other than testing PQ I would also "caress" and "molest" the TV physically to see how good the build quality is which are stuff I usually won't do if it's my own.

This is the only time you get to do it no?

So yeah, no display sets for me even with a substantial discount.

Lazada? Its technically safe and some got buyer protections + AirAsia points some more.
But warranty susah. Plus no extended warranty offered. And its more pricy.
And if u notice, all the interested buyer comment there, but the seller no feedback one... tat means something not right?!  blink.gif bit skeptical.
So the best... its still the offers I found so far. At least can go n have a look. Touch n feel it... Got feel mer buy lo, no feel byebye lol... look for something else  tongue.gif
*
That is nonsense.

Regardless you buy from anywhere as long as you have the official receipt warranty will go through Samsung Malaysia.

Its not like the olden days if lets say you buy from Senheng you have to claim warranty through Senheng if anything goes wrong. Just go straight to Samsung. You still have the option for example to go through Senheng but at the end of the day they will still go back to Samsung. No difference.

My point here is after sales service.
The stock of coz will go back Samsung. But the value added service from a shop tat makes a purchase experience better. As such, senheng will go to your house collect the TV and send it over to Samsung FOC.

Do Samsung send people over and collect the TV? Any charges?

I phoned them, these what they told me:
QLED they do as what they have told, they even bring u a free gift (wireless keyboard) and guide u how to use it. For Qled or higher end model they will collect it for warranty services. Other model, they said "depends".
Yeah... I'm don't want my money "stucked" ...
*
Then it is tak ada value added after sales service rather than warranty susah.

Most if not all Samsung TVs especially those 55" and above ones are definitely covered under their onsite service warranty. They will pick your Tv up for warranty claim and return it to you at no extra charge. Best of all, no third party shop dependency delays. Everything directly with Samsung.
