QUOTE(sklchan @ Nov 2 2010, 09:16 PM) but hor but hor... i can't really appreciate the maxis 3g leh... seem the speed still not as i suspected... to conserve battery use gsm mode certain area can achieve up to edge speed.and then 1 dumb question, do we need to set the phone to 3g/3.5g mode to get the max out of the broadband?? i always on power saver mode currently and it only connect through gsm, will this affect the internet speed?? as till now i'm still wondering why we need to connect using 3g/3.5g other then video call?? for nokia n8 for internet browsing will be under utlized. even load engadget website takes forever. so nokia n8 useful for 3g calls only for n900 its fully utlize i can load website as fast as on computer using 3g. when load video the red bar load so fast. sharing from my experience Added on November 2, 2010, 9:33 pmi pay rm 100 for 500mb x 12 speed achieving speed 2mbps above i feel its a good deal for me This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Nov 2 2010, 09:34 PM |

But I never on my 3G on my phone.. except tethering... ok ok... i will try dig deeper into those later... mean when we tethering it would be great using the 3g/3.5g to get the full internet speed... QUOTE(sklchan @ Nov 2 2010, 09:38 PM) ohhhhhhhhhh..... so from what i experience i can get GPRS & EGPRS all these time... depend on the network cap like digi easy plan cap at 384kbps. celcom prepaid also 384kbps but they are usually unlimitedok ok... i will try dig deeper into those later... mean when we tethering it would be great using the 3g/3.5g to get the full internet speed... edge speed if i am not wrong can achieve 238kbps and 3g up to 384kbps and 3.5g up to 7.2mbps or more correct me if i am wrong |

(of coz not in power saver mode lah as it's predefine fixed setting)... not sure how smart N8 handling dual mode as my previous 5800xm quite dumb as it prefer more to connect through 3g network and when we travelling around the network mode keep switching and MOST of the time causing the phone "hang in term of connection" where can't receiving incoming call or msg... then sometime it hang with the network connection "zero signal strength" although we know the network signal is strong... It will only make the power consumption worse.. once u are out of 3G coverage.. ur phone keep on searching for it all the time... if u try to read ur user manual... u know the different of power require by UMTS network and GSM network.. a big different.... I said before.. like my phone.. wt 3G.. less than 1 day.. sao pei... without 3G.. about 2day+.... |
