but hor but hor... i can't really appreciate the maxis 3g leh... seem the speed still not as i suspected...
and then 1 dumb question, do we need to set the phone to 3g/3.5g mode to get the max out of the broadband?? i always on power saver mode currently and it only connect through gsm, will this affect the internet speed?? as till now i'm still wondering why we need to connect using 3g/3.5g other then video call?? rclxub.gif

to conserve battery use gsm mode certain area can achieve up to edge speed.

for nokia n8 for internet browsing will be under utlized. even load engadget website takes forever. so nokia n8 useful for 3g calls only

for n900 its fully utlize i can load website as fast as on computer using 3g. when load video the red bar load so fast.

sharing from my experience

depend on the network cap like digi easy plan cap at 384kbps. celcom prepaid also 384kbps but they are usually unlimited

edge speed if i am not wrong can achieve 238kbps and 3g up to 384kbps and 3.5g up to 7.2mbps or more

correct me if i am wrong

then hor... won't it be better we set the mode to dual mode in N8 so no need changing here and there?? (of coz not in power saver mode lah as it's predefine fixed setting)... not sure how smart N8 handling dual mode as my previous 5800xm quite dumb as it prefer more to connect through 3g network and when we travelling around the network mode keep switching and MOST of the time causing the phone "hang in term of connection" where can't receiving incoming call or msg... then sometime it hang with the network connection "zero signal strength" although we know the network signal is strong... doh.gif

It will only make the power consumption worse.. once u are out of 3G coverage.. ur phone keep on searching for it all the time...

if u try to read ur user manual... u know the different of power require by UMTS network and GSM network.. a big different....

I said before.. like my phone.. wt 3G.. less than 1 day.. sao pei... without 3G.. about 2day+....
