not that i dont like it. they are not bad. just that i like my weeping demon sound(from what i customize) and the auto footswitch wah feature is a must have. my playing style uses lots of heavy riffs and in between licks or one octave 'chords'(powerchords without the perfect 5th) so thats where the autofootswitch wah feature comes in. smooth transition.

QUOTE(ANGELING @ Oct 23 2005, 11:50 PM)
got a bigger picture on each gear?
really intrested with ur awesome gear.....like the GT-8 and V amp pro.....especially ur 'darling'.....thx
*
i think most of the pics are in page 2(if i recall correctly). the photos taken while i was still in kuching.

QUOTE
Ummmmm. but where are the speakers??

its a 'portable' gear so i cant really carry an amp around coz i travel so much here(and i dont drive here too so using public transport). i come down to kelana jaya quite often too as i stay with my uncle sometimes. plus i dont want my neighbours in my hostel to know how much gear i have. so headphones for the timebeing.

QUOTE
can i say EBP is the most heavily armed member of the forum....pure pwnage....i believe that is only half the ammo he got .....
thats all ive got here in kl (except my zoom pedal and the 'wooden pedalboard' which is not in the pic).

QUOTE
Anyway, your gear is quite impressive yet I'm sure you miss a real amp dreadfully... don't you ? maybe i forgot but did you post some of your music already ? I just remember your furious video clip

yes i really miss a nice amp. since ive been to kl i've only played through an amp only a few times during gigs. marshall jcm900 and good ol roland jc120.

QUOTE
why do you need a tube pre-amp + mic by the way ? you're all the way modelizing your signal, no ?

its a mic tubepreamp, and yes, at this stage its modelling all the way since i am using headphones. it sounds modelled after the guitar amps, but lacks that special warmth and to add some sparkle back it goes through the tube preamp. guitar tube preamps wont work as theyll colour the sound(which i leave it to the amp modeller to do that). mic preamp is more suitable for this job. actually, mic and PA stuff are recommended to be used after modelling compared to guitar gear.

i'll record them after my finals. gotta study hard now so not much time to tweak the gt8.

the preamp is just one way ppl use to add sparkle to their modeller. among others are like BBE maximizer and similiar stuff.

I guess you usually see mostly Peavey in church? Though ironically, it is also in Church that you will find the most expensive piece of gear.

I remember a few years back, there was this family buying a bunch of high end stuff for the church which includes a Fender Bassman bass amp, a Fender bass, a marshall amp, an MIJ RG, a TAMA drumkit, PAs, damn, they might as well have just decorated a concert venue.
*
yea..some churches have very very minimal gear but some just...gives u lotsa GAS. "they might as well have just decorated a concert venue"? well, most churches with lotsa youths nowadays even have halls with lightings and all that.

all this talks about amps makes me GAS for a halfstack even more. i cant concentrate on my exams sad.gif

QUOTE
Does that means that any player could just go up the stage and use those stuff???  Are the stuff well taken care of??? If they are being abused by n00bs, I'm off to steal one tonight!!!

I deserve it muahahah....
not everyone can just simply go touch the gears.

QUOTE
Ok since i'm a church player as well as whacker i believe (issit?)
they normally shud have a worship roster as who which band is playing and people have already been assigned. On some smaller churches, in may be much easier to get on the band provided you are there with the right heart and are a regular member. In larger churches, there may even be a audition before you are accepted into the team. On the other hand, i believe most churches dont simply allow anybody to go and play the stuff without the permission of the relevent people. Besides, some players bring their own stuff (myself included, i only use the church amp even though they have a Boss ME50 and Hamer electric with seymour duncans)
And, about whether the stuff are well taken care of, it is the responsibility of the players and the team to take care of them. If its my own church naturally I should take good care of the stuff.
noobs or not noob's there are more experienced players to help them out... dont be surprised that you may find some very musically talented bands in churches.
i play in church too. in my church you have to go through auditions. they test everything from technical skills to theory knowledge. not only that, we have camps to train church musicians. church musicians arent performers so theres a different approach to playing in church. my church doesnt have that much good equipments so i bring my own, but the PA system and hall is v good though.

QUOTE
Yeah, I've seen one of the concerts/musicals organized by DUMC (Is that what the church is called? The one in a complex that used to be Ruby Theater.) and I thought it was very professionally done. I was very impressed by the sound and the musicianship the performers showed, so cheers to that!!
Anyway, does the church rent out the venue for non-religious purpose??? I thought the hall was a great place for concerts (Nice air-conditioning & good acoustics), wouldn't it be a waste if it's only kept for church use?

i doubt theyll rent it out. its the house of God in the first place.
