sorry bro if you get me wrong.. I m not teasing u...   Initially I am just saying the usual Nokia Firmware waiting game are start again....

u tot I am just pointing at u..  I just mean this happen to everybody who buy/own a Nokia...
*
u know why sometime I'm mad about u.

To me, there is no final version firmware phone. Final version firmware phone means a phone with no more future update/enhancement, a complete set firmware for the phone, stable.. Means its stop right there, no more updates and etc.

And in case you forgot, other android phone is in waiting game for froyo and gingerbread 2.3. The same case with N8/Symbian, waiting for PR2.2

There seems no way to get it back if uninstalled... not even a hard reset... and it's not available from Ovi Store. Maybe you should follow this thread:
http://discussions.nokia-asia.com/t5/Nseri...-N8/td-p/773138
*
based on tht thread....it seems the only way now is to backup evrythg from the phone, perform a complete erase, then restore the backup

so....any1 willing to share his/her backup with me tongue.gif

it seems stupid nokia doesn't provide any sources to their own software....even hard reset or reflash of the firmware wont restore the software

Thats why dont support them...

HTC may not even want to release Froyo for my Legend, but its working fine as it is now except for the message sorting bug. Not everyone has the luxury of time to tinker around with the phone while waiting for newer firmware to fix the current problem. Its a SMARTPHONE so if the SMART features dont work, they gotta fix it. Otherwise just call it a DUMBPHONE.

Upgrade? I got froyo custom firmware now and I can't see any upgrade or total upgrade? If u mean added more features is an upgrade then Symbian gonna have more features for upcoming firmware is also upgrade. How u define upgrade? Total revamped? More like an update to me.

Sigh, again post from BB owner (non-android owner or non-N8 owner).

Well, to give them credit, they really did make sure the HD video, camera and games works like charm. Probably they concentrate too much there and neglected other features. Or it was not even in their TO-DO list as this is not one of their main selling point. They did pretty well with the social app which is important as its useful to upload and share pics taken with N8 which is their main selling point. Then you compare to the browser, you realised perhaps it was not even going to be marketed as being heavily internet linked device like Android or IOS.

For your almighty SGS, mayb you cant feel it or maybe Samsung really sucks with firmware. With CM 6.1 (Froyo 2.2.1), really can feel the zippyness of my Legend vs Eclair 2.1 lor.

Some words from my mind.

If Nokia going to stay competitive, they need to do some revamped to their Symbian UI. The current Symbian UI is old, but after I seen some future firmware, we have some hope that the current Symbian will get some enhancement. But, when the going get tough, the tough gets going, it's hard for Symbian to catch up with it's counterpart Android/iOS. If Nokia abandon Symbian and take android for their phone, means they abandon millions of user that using Symbian today and they will go bankrupt for doing so. Its good if Nokia stay and follow what google do with android

Features from Symbian I would really want to rant about; Browser, Social Networks, hard-to-understand settings language, settings, Ovi Store. These need to improve so the phone will give better user experiences if not for other users, maybe for me. If Nokia reading this, please fix it.

It felt almighty with the specs. But Samsung really sucks with it's firmware, even type on dialing keypad on N8 feels alot snappier than SGS.

Definitely not going to happen... judging from what I seen in S90 and then back to S60->S3, not going to happen anytime soon.

The reason why Nokia stick with it (according to the Ranger introduction speech) was an UI that we Nokian are familiar with. So, I think they wont change the UI anytime soon, but will change how we interact with the phone, so to speak. They are in the right direction with S3, and could take it a step further in S4.

I dont know if this is something to be celebrated.

I can say 20+ names of those around me including my bro, sis and my wife included whom altogether own like 30 Symbian Phone but never had anything more than Garmin installed, and even that was done by me. There were no effort to promote the usage ever since Nokia tried to lock down the Symbian security to stop app piracy.
